2012 January Aria students?

Published

Hi. Anyone apply for Aria SON? for January 2012 start?:)

I called jeffstat & the healthcare provider course is $75 & the required book is $17

Which is alot better than red cross charging $110

Did anyone receive their medical packet?

Nope. But I won't be surprised if I get it a week after everyone lol

Hey guys.

@bumblebee - thanks for being on the site for advice - copying everything was good to know! Thanks. Hope your classes are going well. Also, any word on the "plan to transition to a total BSN program" through the grapevine? Just curious.

To everyone else, hey, congratulations on your acceptance into Aria!!!!!!!! The anxiety should cease (for now :) )

I'm hoping to see all of you in January - as you'll recall I deferred until then. Things are still difficult in the family. Praying God will allow me to go in January and everything will work out for His glory. I'm a bit anxious about the physical since I am older and NOT in good shape. ugh!!! Keep praying for me. Thanks!!!

Hey everyone,

I am applying for September 2012, and I have some questions for those of you who are already in the program. I have a bachelor's degree already and looked at the courses offered by Penn State for their rotations, and some of them are courses I haven't taken, and some I have. I am in the process of taking the sciences and a few others that are prerequisities, but those of you who say you are finishing the program in 2 years, what did you do about a few classes here and there in the Penn State rotation as well as throughout the other semester to be able to be done in 2 years? I am really hoping to be accepted and just curious how they go about doing these classes, if you need a nursing clinical each semester. Can you take a certain amount of classes a semester with youe clinicals to eliminate the PSU rotations? I hope someone can answer some of these Q's. Thanks so much, and I appreciate everyone's advice, stories and accomplishments! :)

I thinks to be finished im 2yrs it depends on how many psu/college courses you already completed. In my case I completed all the psu courses except micro bio & pharmacology. So more than likely I will be finished in two years, since I basically only have to take nursing clinicals and a humanity for the associate degree

OK everybody. I made my decision. I'm starting in January!!!

I'm so excited! But scared also. I've planned my prerequisites and other classes around "LIFE" up to this point. Now, I'll have to plan LIFE around my nursing school classes. That's scary (if you knew my life you'd understand :). Anyways, Old and out of shape, I'll be there come January. Really looking forward to it!

Oh, btw, I called Julie M. today to ask if I was getting another "acceptance" packet because I need new medical forms, etc. She said she mailed them out and I should get it by next week. "some of the mail gets held up in the system" is what she said. So, I'm thinking the medical packets you guys are waiting for you should receive pretty soon, within the next week.

OK. Talk soon. :yeah:

congrats momofsix on deciding to start in january:) I havent heard anything more about the transition...just been busy in my classes and all. The only reason i knew what i knew before was because last semester the DEAN was one of my teachers and she always updated us as to what was going on. Right now I haven't heard anything new.

Philliesgirl. Im coming in with my associates in pre-nursing from my community college. instead of taking two penn state rotations w/ no nursing course...i just keep going with a nursing course and 2 penn state classes every semester. that adds up to 2 years and 2 months (capstone)

things are changing so it could be different by september. who knows. but ill let you guys know if i find out

Thanks Bumblebee!

I really hope you're doing well with your classes!!!

i am. im doing good :) one more month till med surg(210) is over ! cant wait!

Momofsix am happy that you decided to start in January. It's never easy when one has problems in his/her life but one thing I've learned is that no situation is permanent. Stay focused and God will make a way even when there seems to be no way. Looking forward to meeting you.

Hey - just curious bumblebee - do you guys use hand held ipod type computers? I know Northeastern does and so does drexel. Just wondering.
