Game over people... ASA president... Jane Fitch. Thoughts?

You would guess wrong. I only think the AANA has mishandled the entire ASA/AANA war over the years. My AANA number is 042XXX.. I've been at this a while.

If you do not think the election of Dr Fitch is a huge advantage for the ASA.... you have "Quaffed deeply and have become intoxicated" with the AANA Kool-Aid.

How do you suppose the AANA can now counter the " They do not know what they do not know" strategy, which is the cornerstone of the ASA's PR propaganda?

Different opinion = Troll.... Now I can see why only about 5 CRNAs post on this subforum.

Puppies'n Kittens' modification to Godwins law...If your opinion differs from the prevailing clique on a subforum... EVENTUALLY you will be called a troll.

I didn't see you identify yourself as a CRNA. You tone made me think otherwise.

Everyone has an opinion. In order to lend credence to a particular viewpoint, it adds to credibility to state your professional credentials.

Puppies and Kittens you have been posting a whole 2 days on here, and have made several posts in the CRNA forum. There is an obvious reason why people are having a hard to believing your credibility at this time.

Now as far as the ASA president I don't think her being a previous CRNA makes much difference. The studies showing CRNA safety haven't suddenly changed. It is still obvious to everyone, even politicians, this isn't about patient safety it is about ASA trying to maintain a monopoly on anesthesia services.

There have always been previous CRNAs that became MDAs this isn't anything new. The AANA has always preferred to take a more professional route than the ASA. This professional route isn't anything new. The AANA continues to make political in roads all the time without regard to who the current ASA president is or what their educational background happens to be.

Especially when the posts are very pro MDA and anti-CRNA.

ASA campaign When Seconds Count should be easy to counter. The pearl necklace with hospital scrubs stuck me as an infection control issue...:

She looks like a crazy cat lady with her glasses strap.

Is that really the best you can do...complain about the pearl necklace?

"Obvious to everyone" if you have CRNA after your name.

As far as the AANA taking the "more professional route" - well, that's just laughable. This is the same AANA that is threatening to sue the ASA because they didn't like their response to a piece of CRNA propaganda published in The Hill a few months ago. Do you REALLY think Jay's piece was an objective, opinion-free, and based totally on incontrovertible facts? C'mon...

Do you think their agenda is patient safety?

I always find it funny when people argue back and forth about the good of the people but in the end it's all politics. Politics is about money and power.

Personally I like the majority of the MDAs I work with but there are a few that feel the need to show their superiority over us. I choose to work with MDAs and some do not. I looked for a position that didn't have AAs. I have no experience with AAs so it's not a knock against them.

Anesthesia assistant. I didn't know what they were before anesthesia school. Of course I also didn't know what a CRNA was before nursing school.

The AAs are limited to 16 or so states (maybe a little more). They cannot work independent of an anesthesiologist. Not sure if their practice is limited otherwise.
