Jan 07, Charity School of Nursing, hopefully!

Published

Well, after speaking with **** on the phone today, I am cautiously optimistic--ok, just hopeful--that I will be admitted to the Spring '07 class. Anyone else?

Does anyone know when the admissions committee meets to go over applicants? All I was told was "sometime this Fall." I wish there was an interview!

are u taking them in slidell? If so i hope you get ****, her tests are alittle tricky but she is very nice and she tries to prepare u for charity.

I took fine arts survey at the city park campus, it was very easy.

yes, I am taking them in Slidell. I LOVE *****!:) I had her for Microbiology last semester and she was awesome. And I am also taking Intro to theater for my fine arts. I hate theater, but I didn't like the other options either. Then I will be done. Have you finished all of yours? and if so, are you just gonna sit out the fall semester?

I had her for Micro last semester too! I can't remember what time though, I will look it up. No i am taking other classes to finish my degree i started with in the beginning. (early chilhood education) I can't wait to start Charity!

I can't wait to start either! I am so tired of waiting and I actually started considering if I wanted to do the Deaconess online program. I'll find out this week if I got accepted or not. If I do get accepted I'll have to decide whether to do it or wait for Charity. Decisions decisions:)

September is great! I was thinking that Dec. was too late to hear anything definite, esp. if we're supposed to take CPR and have shots out of the way etc. To those of you wondering about PAX-RN...my results came in exactly two weeks after testing. The test is not too difficult, but you have to be able to multiply and divide fast since they do not allow calculators in. That was the most difficult thing, I found. The other stuff, either you knew it or you didn't. Typical standardized testing stuff. Use common sense to narrow it down to two, then eenie meenie miney moe! Got me a decent score, anyway.

OK, I have been able to glean from all the info here that the Charity program is a 4-day/week one, right? Two days of lecture, two days of clinicals. I hope to get in to the day division. What can I expect a typical week to look like? I am wondering if I will have to sign my kids up for before and/or after care at school. Also, what are all the clinical sites? Can they rotate, or are you always at the same hosp.? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

For those trying to start school in spring '07, does anyone have any idea about the number of applicants?

Hey girls, I talked to **** yesterday and she said the last batch of letters will be the last week of October so anytime between sept to oct the letters will go out in different batches. She did tell me that my file was about to go before the commitee and that i would get a letter either way, if i get in or not. Thought i wold pass the news along.

Thanks for the info! I can't wait to get a letter (hopefully)! It will be a relief after all this waiting around!

So did it sound like your letter, yes-or-no, would go out sooner than September? If your app is going to committee soon, will you get your letter soon? I am dying to know something!!

Cresentgrrl, from what my friend told me you go on Mondays for testing (either 10:30 to 11:20 or 11:30 to 12:20) then you do clinicals on either Wed or Tues from 7:30 to 2:30 (THATS for the 1st 8 weeks after the midterms then you go to clinicals 2 times a week every other week) and you go from 9 to 12 for lecture. Then Pharmacology is a 9 to 12 class once a week. Thats the 1st semester. FOr the 2nd one you go 2 times a week from 7 to 2 for clinicals and 2 days a week from 8 to 12. Hope that helps

I am really not sure, **** is really nice but she really does not know what batch i will be in. I just want to get mine fast, I am pretty sure i will get in but I won't be happy until i see the letter.

LarryRachel, how long ago did you apply? I was wondering how long you have been waiting to get in? I'm pretty sure that I'll get in for Jan too, but will feel better once i get a letter!

Monique;)
