I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!

I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!

At our orientation that said that you can typically go to CVS, Walgreens, Kroger pharmacy and have them done there.

Also if you do get stuff done at CVS, like I got my flu shot there, you have to take the paperwork with you to your doctors office so THEY can sign off on it, apparently the paperwork from the pharmacy isnt enough ?

As we're closing in our last "free" weekend, just wanted to check in with everyone ?

How are you all feeling ?!! Are you ready to smash this semester out! Its seems unbelievable to me still that we made it, and FINALLY we will be freshman nursing students ?

I'm here always if anyone needs ANY support at any time. I sincerely wish the best of luck to ALL of you, you will all make such wonderful nurses!

Hey!! I am super excited! Soooo ready to just get going already! The last 3-4 weeks have been going by soooo slow! lol. This is my last day at my current job. I do have to say that I can tell there are definitely people that are jealous!
Anybody else have that experience? The good people I work with are super excited for me, but ya know.

The books that we got are huge too! They wont all fit in my backpack, so still trying to figure out how to transport all of that.

Oh my gosh!! Yes, usually people are in disbelief, although I have had a few people who are already nurses say to reach out of I need anything so that has been SUPER sweet. But sadly it seems like MOST of the time people dont want to see others move on and advance and succeed.

The books are HUGE. I also had to buy a new seperate duffel bag to carry all the lab equipment ? then I got another smaller bag for clinicals. It seems like there was just like SOOOO much stuff to move around and organize.

I'm also just ready to get moving. My clinical day has already changed once too haha but I am DEFINITELY not complaining about that, it went from a friday to a Thursday and Thursdays are days my husband is usually off anyway so I wont have to panic as often about finding childcare at 6am ? but that's another big reason I am ready to get going, just for all of us to get used to the new schedule!!

What classes do you have on Monday? I have Fundamentals and Lab! I am POSITIVE this year will be done in the blink of an eye!! (Although it probably wont feel like that some days)

I’m excited and nervous and having all the feelings! Definitely going to enjoy weekend of freedom before everything gets wild! Best of luck to everyone!!

So so nervous but excited since it’s been long awaited ! Filled out my planner for the first 8 weeks and my stress level went up lol gonna enjoy some time with my family this weekend before my first class Tuesday!

I am super excited and nervous to start!! I already got an email from my Fundamentals instructor about “what to expect” for the week and what chapters we’ll be covering! I’ve also already heard from others in the program who started last semester to expect a “pop” quiz on the first day of the chapters that my professor sent in the email. So I’ll be reading this weekend just in case! ?

@Kserf1998 I am sooooo jealous you have your assignments already to plan out for, I'm DYING to know what is going to be going on for each class !!

@Jkrupka ugh!! We had 3 chapters in fundies and 1 in med surg to read but that's all I have heard so far!!

I got a really nice email from.my clinical instructor at least, to give us an idea of what to expect but that's it. I've been checking myivylearn like 6x a day to see if anything has posted and it hasnt lol

Talk about jumping in head first!!!

@Kotylynne yeah I was so overwhelmed with the syllabus and the assignments from both lab and class that it was a must to plan ahead lol ! I think I’m more nervous for check offs the first day after my lab next week then I am my assignments lol

Yeah, I am going to HAVE to make lists for each week or I'll probably have a melt down.

And omg I havent even let myself think of check offs yet ???
