I am currently going to Ivy Tech in Indianapolis, IN and I was in need of some comparisons. I've received all b's in my courses for prereqs. B in anatomy 1&2, b in psychology and Eng111. and a 90 on my teas test, what would you say my chances are for getting accepted into the practical LPN nursing program? If you don't mind, could you share your scores and tell me if you made it in. Or would you please tell me if I have good chances at making it in? I'll also receive 3 points for living in the district. I've seen other threads like this, but no one ever responds. PLEASE RESPOND!!

If you go to the Indiana Nursing Programs board you will be able to find out more!

But just to let you know that I've heard in Indy you have to have all A's. Good Luck!

Your TEAS score is good, but you should look into the possibility of re-taking the prereqs if possible. You really need As to get in. 1 B might be okay, but it's really competitive since there are so many applicants.

Yea I am going there now and I got a B in Psy 101 like 2 semester ago, but I am retaking it this coming semester. Also, they don't give the regional points anymore they have changed the scoring. You did really good on the Teas, did you get the study guide? I plan to take it in the beginning of March. Also, did you take the new version 5 because those scores are the only ones they are taking now. So if you took it last year I think those scores aren't any good. If you go into the nursing office on the second floor they will tell everything you need to know but, it is highly recommended that you try to get all A's and 1 B is probably ok, plus a good teas score to get into the nursing program. But if you are only trying to get into the LPN program things maybe a little different. Also, if your interested only in LPN you should check out J. Everett Light on the northside of town they have a LPN program it's about $13000-$14000 I think. www.jelcc.com I was going to go there but I work at Methodist Hosptial in Indy and they are doing away with their LPNs.

Are you in nursing school?

I got into the RN program at the Lafayette campus with all As and an 85 on the TEAS. I think that gave me a 208 overall, because I had the region points. I know that this year the changed the points system somewhat, so I don't know what you would have. However I would say that it would definitely benefit you to retake a couple of your courses and try for As - Indianapolis is even more competitive than Lafayette.

Im going to be honest...in Bloomington, a friend of mine has all As, 1 B and an 89on her TEAS and didn't get it..Have you looked at any different schools around Indy?
