Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....
Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?
I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.
And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!
I applied to both an RN program and LPN program. I accepted the LPN program when I got the call and now they are accepting people with lower scores than mine into the RN program. I am still on the RN waitlist but they say they call those not in any program first and that they re-rank everyone on the first day of the program. Anyone have any experience with this? I would have thought people with the highest score would get the RN program first.

Well it sounds to me like you're going to be an RN! I'm not sure which campus this is, but it's definitely an interesting way of doing things. Just stay on top and things and make sure you're where you're supposed to be ranked on the first day! Best wishes.
Question for any RN students starting this fall at Lawrence:
We have an all day orientation coming up on Thursday, August 19. Does anyone know what we are supposed to bring and if we are supposed to wear our uniform? Just wondering if anyone knows before I try to get in touch with someone at the nursing dept. I've been "bothering" them a bit, lately!
Thanks!
Who else is totally excited to start on Monday!
I got my physical done (finally) today, along with my TD booster, TB test, and I have to get my varicella titer done tomorrow. I've got all supplies packed up and ready to go for 7:30 Monday morning.
A little off-topic - has anyone here heard anything about the availability of jobs in Indiana? I've been hearing quite a few negative opinions on this lately and I have to say it has me a little worried. I'm trying not to let it stress me out too much, but obviously it's on my mind.
i was excited and now i'm just nervous/scared. after buying the books and looking at the massive pile i'm a little overwhelmed. *sigh* i couldn't believe this semesters books were almost $1,000! i've bought everything i need except for a nice watch with a second hand and my white leather shoes.
i honestly don't know what to take with me monday. there is so much stuff! if anyone would like to keep in contact during the semester find me on facebook. i'd love to have some nursing friends who i can conversate with!
praying for a great semester for all of us we have worked so hard to get this far so let the journey begin!
I found a nice watch on this website:
Nursemates.com - The Official Nurse Mates Shoes Website
I think it was only $20 or $30. I'm bringing my Fundamentals book, and lots of paper to take notes on Monday. I haven't received any instructions to bring specific items, so I'm assuming we'll find out that day in class when we receive our syllabus and other paperwork.

i'll definitely add you on facebook! i'd also love to keep up with others who are going through the same things i am. my sister is doing the lpn program at the same campus as i am (madison) so atleast i'll have someone there to chat with. i'm moving almost 2 hours away to go to this school. i'm extremely overwhelmed, but know this will all be worth it in the end!!

I've found Madison to have excellent response time. I hate calling Ivy Tech with a question and having to wait on hold for hours. Madison always returns my calls and answers my questions immediately. I also did some research and they had a 95% NCLEX pass rate last semester. I decided to drive 15 minutes more each day to go to Madison :)
