I've been dismissed from nursing school. Help!

Published

Hello All,

I was recently dismissed from my nursing program for failing more than 2 classes in one semester. At my time of attendance,i was a full-time student and working full time. Working full time and attending school full time was a big mistake, i should have attended nursing school part time (you live and you learn .) Due to my hectic schedule I was unable to retain any of the information I learned due on top of that I had a bad case of text anxiety. Ultimately, all these factors resulted in my flunking out of school.

After working so hard to get into the program, I'm so disappointed in myself for dropping the ball. Nursing is something i wanted to do for a long time and is something that I still want to do, its just been so hard trying to get into another program. Lately i've been so discouraged, but I don't want to give up. Anything worth having is worthing fighting for and trust me I have a lot of fight in me. I know where I mess up and know what I need to do in order to be successful in the future.

My question is, has anyone been in the same predicament? What did you do? Were you able to get into another nursing program or did you give up? Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

FYI: I'm in the NYC area and attended a private university.

Im sorry, working and school is tough. Ive been there. You should reapply. If nursing is what you want to do you cant let this stop you. Apply again, and do better next time.
