Happy Thanksgiving.

One time when working in ER we had one of those typical headache that requires nothing less than demerol, 25 yr old woman, come in. It had been such a busy shift and we just didn't have time for her hysterics and histronics. The ER MD was annoyed that the PCP had not educated this woman that ER is not the place for her. He wrote that the woman had FITH disease and sent the chart thru dept mail to the PCP, knowing the PCP, a concientious newbie, would puzzle for days trying to figure what FITH disease is. He did share with me, as I had no idea either, that it stands for 'fricked in the head'

Well I was scheduled but D/T low census they asked if I would mind beign off but on call? uh NO! I can handle that, so far so good and it is 7a-7p so 3 hours and I am golden!
