Ithought I was prepared until I took an exam from Saunders!! ahhh..

Ok, i'm majorily FREAKING OUT!! I'm scheduled for the NCLEX on July 1st. I took Kaplan and felt confident that with my scores I would have a good chance of passing NCLEX. However the one thing I noticed about Kaplan was they kept bringing up the same topics over and over and over again. I just assumed they did that on purpose because they were the most tested topics on the NCLEX. Well since I've done the Kaplan questions a million times and memorized/can recongize most of the answers, I figured I would start doing some Saunders questions (3rd edition.) The only time I used Saunders to study was when I only had a few minutes so I would use the CD and do a quiz (only 10 questions) or do the questions from the book, and I always scored well (80% or higher.) Well I just did an exam from the CD which is 100 questions and I got a 70%. I know a 70% is considered a good grade for Kaplan, but I think I should be doing better considering I used Saunders. I just felt like when I was doing the Saunder's exam I saw some topics and I was like "what?!?!" AHhhh... what should I do?! I'm freaking out!!! This describes exactly how I feel right now ---->:scrm:

Ladies PLEASE HELP.

My Qbanks are doing worse, I think I am toooo stressed and my concentration is gone. I am thinking about changing my test till July 29 it would give me more time and I would have a chance to vacation with my kids july 4 weekend and july 20 week. Maybe I need to get away and relax then come back and do the tests?

Any advise

Back when I was preparing for the NCLEX, I was so incredibly tempted to change my test date ..... "if I could only have another week to prepare", "if I could only have another week to do more questions, then I'll be better off", etc.

Please DON'T CHANGE YOUR TEST DATE!! If you've been doing questions just about every day and you've put some effort forth in studying for the exam, then that's all you can do. Honestly, when I got done taking the NCLEX, I felt like nothing could have prepared me for it. Sure it's good to do the practice questions because it helps with your critical thinking, but postponing the date of the exam by a few weeks so you can get more questions in isn't going to help the outcome, IMO.

And also, it's good just to get it over with. When I came to realize that I'm either going to pass or fail and either outcome would be OK, then I was able to relax more and I went in there with a clear head and I wasn't so anxious.

Good luck to you all, you'll all be ok .... you really will be! Just hang in there.

Without a doubt I agree 100% w/Raindreamer! I know it's so much easier said then done, but take a day off from doing questions and just relax! Suck up 4th of july weekend and fully devote that weekend to studying. Picture this- you take the NCLEX July 9th and find out the 11th that you PASSED! This way you can go away w/your kids on the weeknd of July 20th. I was originally supposed to take my test June 23rd but I pushed it back to July 1st and I completely regret it! You still have over a week! Good luck w/your decision!:heartbeat

I thought I'd jump in with some advice.... I took my nclex-pn this morning after studying religiously since May when school ended. I test well usually and definitely know my stuff, but nothing and I mean NOTHING could've prepared me for the questions that the computer spit at me today. So many SATA, priority, and the most random meds...I used my ABC's and Maslow's whenever I got the chance...It's true when they say you either know it or you don't...have faith that your mind is like a sponge, that's what I keep telling myself...hopefully I'll know my results by tomorrow night (via Quick Results)...for now I'm just trying to relax and think positive! By the way, the computer shut off at 85 Q's....either super good or super bad  ...
