COMFORTABLE SHOES!!! I always wear nursing shoes, they make em' for "people like us" =) I always have my own good stethoscope (and never let it out of my sight), a couple of pens, my lip balm. Then I collect various things over the course of a shift: alcohol preps, IV caps, tape, scissors.

I work a busy cardiac Tele floor. I quickly learned I need dual cargo pocket scrub pants and scrub tops with 2 front pockets on the outside when stuff kept falling out of the cute slash pocket tops. I have a pocket protector with spare cash and it also holds my scissors, hemostats, pen light, a sharpie and it fits in my right leg pocket along with work phone. Left leg pocket holds my brains. Left scrub pocket holds personal items, lip balm, mints and small pill container with Advil, Tylenol. Right scrub top pocket has wipes, caps for IV tubing and piccs, tape, electrodes and 4 color pen. Stethoscope goes around my neck, is cleaned between pts and when I'm done I leave it on my WOW.
