It shut off after 75 questions...

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I thought I would feel better, but I know I got the last question wrong. I clicked the answer and then next and wanted to go back as soon as I did, but it went to a blue screen.

I wanted to pass on the first try, now I am so messed up... I should have not went into panic mode and scheduled when I did...

I can't believe I did well in school and now it is over because of 75 questions...

I know it's easier said than done, but PLEASE try not to panic!

Keep these things in mind:

- The number of questions doesn't really predict the pass/fail result.

- Missing the last question does NOT predict a failing result.

- Everyone gets ~50% right on the NCLEX, so it's supposed to feel terrible.

Best of luck to you on your results. Let us know how it turns out!

Thank you so much Eric... I thought surely if I missed the last question I was done...

It just feels so awful!

It's rough for nearly everyone - that's for sure. I'm wishing you some speedy results!

I could have written your post! I too thought I would feel relief if the computer shut off after 75 questions for me today but am nervous as well.

I had the exact same thought process you did "all the work to get good grades in school, all the good HESI scores, all the hours of doing questions and if feels like none of it mattered and I failed anyway!" I felt like throwing up! But then started to become more rational and realize that getting 75 questions is a good thing despite how we feel coming out of it!

Let's both just tell ourselves that we passed and try to feel really good about our 75 questions until we hear something to the contrary!

I am trying, but when I am able to remember a question, I think, but maybe it was this because...

OK, calming down again... I really want to be an RN! I want it more than I have ever wanted anything. I keep checking Pearsonvue like it will be there before Wednesday :)

I will keep you in my thoughts!

That's funny because I am doing the same thing LOL

I will think one minute that I got a question right and feel good, then I will remember another question and think I got that one wrong, I must have failed. I feel rather bipolar at the moment.

This could be a long 24-48 hrs (I actually checked the BON about 6 hrs after taking the test thinking..well, maybe! ACK I am also feeling rather obsessive compulsive now too!)

When I took mine 7 yrs. ago I had 75 questions as well. There was another classmate that began the same time I did and I thought I'd wait outside the testing area for her and get her perspective of the test. Well, I waited and waited and finally had to leave without seeing her.

Turns out I passed and she didn't.

Good luck to you.....all! I know the angst you're feeling and I wish you the very best!

I just found out that one of my friends did not pass... she had all 265... I feel so bad for her.

At the same time, all I can think about is the fact that I feel like I failed. I am a horrible friend!

I know what you mean, I took mine today, had 75 quesitons as well. I couldn't tell you if I missed the last question or not because it was a medicine I had never heard of and was doing patient teaching0( lol ) so unless picking A is a new strategy........... I felt good about it though, left feeling like it wasn't as bad as I had heard, ran through every system etc. I have also already checked, hehehe. Can't wait til wed. to know, but i feel good enough to actually sleep for the first time in 2 years.

God bless you in your future career as a RN later this week.

Whoo hoo, I just found out I passed! Hang in there, the news will be the same for you, I just know it!!

OMG, I couldn't wait any longer... I called the board of nursing and asked them to see if I had a license number!! I did! I passed! I am a Registered Nurse! I am so, so, SO, SO HAPPY!

I am so happy that I had a license number!! I passed, I passed, I passed! I am so happy, so happy, so happy! I start work on Monday, June 11, 2007! I am going to be an RN in the PICU! Oh my gosh!! I am so happy!

Thank you everyone for your help and support! Especially thank you Eric and Suzanne!!!!!!
