ISU. a little help please?

Published

For those who are applying to or have applied to ISU's LVN to BSN:

When did you aplpy or when are you going to apply to ISU...after taking the 10 prereqs (Freshman College Comp,College Algebra, Info tech, Public Speaking, A&P, Chem, Micro, Psychology, Sociology, and Dev. Psych) or after you have ALL your general ed classes done? I'm kind of confused as to when I should apply. I have 3 of the 10 required classes left to take and around 4 general ed classes left. I plan to apply to ISU after I have the 3 required classes done but I'm not sure if thats a smart move. What do you all think? Suggestions would be great!

Thanks in advance! :lol2:

You can apply to ISU any time. Right away if you want. You apply to the nursing program after your 10 pre-reqs are finished. I still have patho, gerontology and technical writing to do but I'm going to do them either along with my first semester of nursing classes or over the summer.

Hi,

I am also close to applying to ISU...I work full-time so I have chosen to get all of my non-nursing courses done so that I won't have such a heavy load. I am hoping to apply to ISU next fall. I will then have only Spanish (yuk) and their Phy Ed credit

Good Luck!

Brenda

If you are taking the online RN to BS program, you should be exempt from the foreign language requirement. I have been at ISU for quite awhile, both on campus and through online courses.

Hi,

I am going to be applying to the LPN-BSN program and it looks like I will have to take a foreign language because I did not take 2 years in high school. If you know differently, let me know,

Thanks, Brenda

I don't know if the LPN to RN online students are exempt from the foreign language requirement. I would contact the nursing dept and ask. They are pretty busy sometimes and you may have to call a few times, but don't give up.

Hello everyone!

I still have to take college algebra, chemistry, and lifespan dev.psych! I'm finishing up the semester at my local community college, so I'm hoping to get the 3 prereqs squared away by Feb or March 2008? Well, thats the plan at least! Heehee. I have taken human growth and development and was hoping to get credit for the class so I wouldnt have to take lifespan, but I guess the class doesnt fulfill the requirement...which really sucks! I'll still have analysis of lit, world religions, gerontology, and patho left to take along with my 4 CSM's, but I was thinking of applying to ISU as soon as I have the 10 prereqs done? What do you all think? Im just so eager to get into the nursing program already! Like everyone else, I'm ready to become an RN!!:nurse:

Thank you all so much! We have such a great supprt system on here! :lol2:

Are you sure Human Growth and Development doesn't fulfill that? That's what I took and so far no one has said anything.

Hi,

I was also told that Human Growth and Development was not accepted but I was told that by TCN. Since I had not taken either yet, it was no big deal. Maybe ISU will accept it?

Let us know what you find out.
