Issues with Eligibility and Receiving ATT?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey everyone! Just wondering if anyone was having similar issues with their board of nursing declaring them eligible...My dilemma:

I graduated about a month ago and sent all my documents to my state board as well as registering online with pearsonvue. After waiting several weeks I called to see if my material was received. (NO ONE answered phones for days after repeated calling at different intervals) Once finally speaking with a rep I was told that they received my letter from my dean declaring I completed my schooling and would make me eligible. Once I checked online it still stated "ineligible"! After calling again a rep told me they "went online to the NCSBN website and made you eligible to sit for the exam". However, I have received NO emails and when I called pearsonvue they said they have not received eligibility from the board of nursing. Does anyone know what is going on or if this has happened to them?! How long from the time your board tells NCSBN you are eligible does pearsonvue get this and send your ATT? I am incredibly confused and worried I wont get to test before my work start date next month.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi,

When I graduated nursing school, it took about 7 1/2 weeks for any student to be "made eligible". I am in Florida and I know that the state now requires finger printing and a background check to be completed before being made eligible. I seriously called my board of nursing about ten times to keep asking questions (and bothering them :wacky: ). I would also call your school to make sure that your file was reviewed correctly and nothing was left out. It is a process and tends to take time. I know being anxious to get out there and the take the NCLEX doesn't help, but the small wait is worth it. Just make sure that the board has everything they have requested to make one "eligible" ;) and take note of anyone you speak to, date it, and ask for direct lines. Good luck!

I graduated May 19 and I had applied in March. The board said they received our letters from our school on May 20 but that it would be 3-4 weeks still until we got our ATT. I live in Ohio. Still waiting as well.

Frustrating. I did not go through it. I would try and keep calling to find someone who could help. I would also request an official transcript from my school be sent to department of health. The transcript is just another way of letting them know that you are eligible to sit for the exam.

I'm in New York and although I am still waiting on my ATT, I've spoke to the BON. I was told this morning that once they receive my paperwork from my school saying I graduated that within 24hours I will receive the ATT from PearsonVue.

Sounds like something is not right with what's happening with you, I'd call back and explain everything again. Make sure all of your fees have gone through to PearsonVue and your state.

I went to the board in person today to see if I would have better results. I hand delivered yet another transcript to make sure they had it. The manager stated that she went on NCSBN and marked me eligible to test yesterday. I know there had been some issues with the PearsonVue website yesterday. She tried to show me where she logs in to make students eligible but that website was down today too! I'm hoping its just caught up in the system due to the website crashes but who knows. I got her email contact and will email her on Monday if I still haven't received anything. The whole process is just super frustrating. My check for the board of nursing was cashed and my credit card payment went through with Pearson back in April so everything is good there. I really do not understand what the issue is. Yikessss

I have heard of 24 -48 hour turn around and as long as 90 days....depends on the board. Deep breath in....let it out.....

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! on graduating..:)

Thanks everyone for the support. Persistence pays off, just received my ATT!!! NCLEX scheduled, now back to the books :banghead:

I reside in KY, but live within 10 miles of the VA border. I went to nursing school in VA because it was closer to me than any KY school. I graduated May 10. On May 24, I got my ATT and scheduled my NCLEX for May 30. On May 31, my status on the KY BON website was updated to show that I had passed!!! I got my RN license # and was listed as an RN on the registry by June 3.

I said all that to say your home state BON makes all the difference in how long it takes you to get your ATT. I graduated with 34 students from VA who still have not gotten their ATTs yet!!! God bless KY BON! :inlove:

That's awesome to hear. I'm in New York too and still waiting for my ATT as well. Hopefully soon, though I hear the testing centers are backed up til mid July.

Hello fellow graduates!

I have a similar yet different problem/concern...

I sent in my application and documents to MI BON in early April and received my application confirmation 2 weeks later. I then received my ATT on April 29th...before I had even graduated (graduated May 11). So I signed up to take it that day and actually just took it earlier today. My brain is roasted and toasted. I'm not sure what to make of having taken all 265 questions...after taking multiple predictor exams predicting 88%, 93% and 65 on kaplan practice exam that I would pass NCLEX first time. I'm too terrified to try the "trick" I've been reading so many stories of how it is worked for so many people but also heard multiple people and testimonies report that they received a false negative...did not get the good pop up but did end up passing...especially since i took all 265, I'm just going to have some faith....and wait...like a basketcase.

Anyways, on MI BON website when I go to check my application status it says under the column of missing documents and such, that they are still waiting for my transcripts (which because of a hold up by my school were finally sent this week), waiting to be made eligible and also waiting for NCLEX score.

My question is how come the website says basically that i have not been made eligible yet but I received my ATT from pearson back the end of April and registered to sit for NCLEX and actually did indeed take the exam today? Somewhere there is a disconnect....does anyone have any experience with this? Can this problem affect how my scores are interpreted and verified for authenticity? Someone from the BON had to have made me eligible otherwise i would not have received my ATT right? So why would the website on my file show that I have not even been made eligible yet? I am just a little worried and a little paranoid because I don't want something that I didn't even do wrong to affect the potentiality of my attaining my long awaited RN license.

Any help or comments or recommendations would be sooooo appreciated!

Is it possible your BON just keeps adding info onto the status update without erasing what was there prior...for example, they first added, waiting for transcripts, then added waiting to make eligible and then without erasing those two, added awaiting NCLEX scores even though they did receive your transcripts and found you eligible.

Person Vue had to be notified by the state of MI that you were eligible before they sent the ATT. I believe all is well there.

Wishing you much luck on your results. I'd say you have an excellent shot of passing or they would have simply shut you down much earlier! Right??? Yea...say a little prayer and go do that PV trick!!!!

Best wishes and keep us posted.
