Ugh...I've had diarrhea for 2 days and today I've been so queasy if I just hadn't had my period, I would've thought I was pregnant. I finally ate a sandwich, thinking I needed something on my tummy and I'm so nauseous right now, I almost can't type.
My youngest son, 15 mos., had diarrhea a few days ago and I just noticed tonight that at some point, has vomited in his crib. I found dried vomit on part of a blanket, the side of his sheet, in his crib rails, and some spots on the floor. Vomit hater that I am, I was gagging while scrubbing the crib (with Clorox wipes too) and made sure I washed my hands good after cleaning it. I don't know when he did it because there were stuffed toys all over the floor, hiding it and blankets rolled into a ball at the foot of the crib.
Of all the flus out there, I think stomach flu is the absolute worst! ICK!

Ummmm...I think so. I had the cha-chas too and it was disgusting! More like undigested food s well. At times I felt like upchucking but never did. That was it for about a week. I know several people that had the same thing.
Also, there is a cold of course going around too :-(

"Stomach Flu" is a bit inaccurate. The Flu is caused by the influenza virus. The virus attacks specific cells. While GI complaints can accompany the flu, do not confuse influenza with AGE.
True influenza infection is actually quite serious. The risk for complications such as severe pneumonia and death are quite real with influenza. Many cases of AGE are self limiting and will go away with rest, fluids, and BRAT type diet. Not to say very serious GI illness does not exist. AGE can be caused by a number of agents. Examples include; parasite, bacteria, and virus infection.
A bit nit picky; however, many people confuse the terminology.

My nine year old nephew wa s sent home from school this week. Apparently he suddenly started vomiting in class. My sis said she got him home just in time because shortly after they got in the door he started running at the other end. In two days he was fine.

I however have the dreaded cold. The one that starts out as a trace sore throat and ends up congesting the upper respiratory and then digs deep into the lower. Shivers and shakes and aches for one night....taking mucinex now, which is working wonders, at least I don't have to go around dripping goop all over the place, geewhiz!

I have had a horrible cold for over a week now. I'll be thrilled when I can actually go about my day without tissues plastered to my nose.

Ive had it too. 4 days before i could drag myself back to work. I swear i would have rather had a go-lytely cocktail than that. At least i would know when it would stop. I hadnt been that sick since i was a kid.
