I wanted to hear thoughts about RN Network. I am considering them for my first assignment.

How do you think they compare to the other 10 agencies you've talked to? That is the only relevant opinion unless they are the only agency you've talked to. Then you are going in blind.

It's not just about the agency but about the recruiter. My experience with larger companies is that there is little room to negotiate my contract. I have worked for a large agency because they have had the exclusive contract in a location that I wanted or needed to work in and that was the only way I could get an assignment there. I have been traveling off and on for 7 years and did 8 contracts, with extensions, all with RN Network.

I am working on getting my first travel assignment and have talked to several agencies. RN Network didn't have anything available for me immediately, but the recruiter I spoke to gave me some good advice anyway, and I didn't detect any BS, which is all I feel like I've gotten from one of the agencies. For that reason, they're definitely on my radar for the future.

@NedRN, I read in another comment that you have been traveling for 18 years. Bravo! You're my inspiration today because I see it can be done! So, if you don't mind my asking, what agencies do you work for?
In my opinion, agency brands are almost irrelevant except for perhaps the 6 worst agencies. Every agency out there, including the worst of the worst, has fans that they do work for. What is important is finding a recruiter you communicate well with - that is the largest variable you have control over and is perhaps the best marker for success as a traveler. Only way to do that is to call bunches and pick a few to work further with.
At this stage in my career, I've bumped up one level and act as my own personal agency doing direct contracts.

I use to travel with RN Network. However I stopped doing assignments with them. My recruiter was great. Everyone else I dealt with was awful. Also the agency started to become really penny pinching and looking for ways to bill the travel nurses for every tiny thing that other agencies covered as part of their costs.
Several times I was payroll deducted for things they "forgot" they were going to charge me for from previous assignments. A few times I was successful in getting the money back from them. After they billed me for an $0.18(yes 18 cents!) overage on my electric bill allowance from an assignment I finished 6 months ago, I decided that was the last straw.

I've done several contracts with them (currently on one now), and haven't had any issues. I agree with other posts, in that it can all depend on your recruiter and your relationship with them. I don't have any experience with them "nickel and dime"ing me like other companies did either. But again, what's great for me might be awful for you!
