I wanted to see how I compare with all the other applicants, I have 22 points. How many do you have?
I hope everyone can take a week off from worrying to have a great SPRING BREAK. I just wanted to congratulate everyone for what you have done so far. This is not an easy road and to make it this far is a great accomplishment. So when worry takes over......tell yourself.......to enjoy this road........because the next one doesn't get any easier. I don't worry so much that I won't get in.......its more OH CRAP I might GET IN! Life only changes big time once I am in the program. I will have to learn to balance my family of four and hubby and everything else. Excited and scared.......but putting that all on hold come THURSDAY.......which is when we officially leave for Washington State from Texas, 36 hours in the car with 6 kids is way enough to worry about! LOL
Hey everyone!!
I was reading this thread and best of luck to all of you who applied; I hope all of you get in!!
I have a few questions about WCC's RN program. Do you have to have PHED to apply or can you forego that point and submit your application? As for the rest of points required, I have the 4 pre-reqs with CHEM instead of MATH, but I was also wondering if Spanish can be substituted for FINE ARTS? If not, then I'm lacking 2 pts. from that catagory. Also, I was wondering what to expect from the TEAs? I havnt taken it thus far, only the HESI, and i'm not sure what the TEAS TEST consists of? I'm strong in ENGLISH so I would'nt worry about that section, the MATH section, is it high school math w/ a little bit of Algebra mixed in or is it similar to the HESI math ? And the science portion (which is by far, my worst area of expertise), what does it cover?!! I know I've asked a great deal of questions, but any guidance from you would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
KASEYP

hi, thank you i hope we all get in too. you do not have to have phed to apply, but it is worth a point on the point system. i'm not sure if spanish will be taken as a fine arts. the teas was not bad, my weakest area was english, and strongest was math. if you know your decimals, percentages, and fractions, basic adding, subtraction, multiplying, and division you will do fine. also there is one question about the pythagorean theorem (if you take 4.0). i have never taken the hesi so i'm not sure. ok i'm sure you have read but the science is very random, there website called chem4kids.com it helped me out a lot on the science portion. i really can't remember what the questions were like but, if you get the online practice test those questions are very similar to the real test.
good luck
I think I'm giving myself an ulcer worrying over the acceptance packet! If I just knew what textbooks, shoes, scrubs etc. I needed I could preoccupy myself with finding that stuff. I just want to know!!!! The first time I talked to KL she said 22 pts was accepted for last semester. I don't know how many people applied last semester though because it is a nights/weekends program. I've been researching on here trying to see what fall semesters need to have for points. I'm driving myself crazy!!
Do they alternate semesters with nights/weekends and day classes? I would be interested in day classes only. Just curious.
