Is there any Paramedic to RN 1 year bridge programs in Ohio?

Published

Hello, I am currently enrolled in the paramedic program with Cincinnati State Tech. This will be my second year, I spent the last year getting my 240 and EMT-B cards. I am halfway through paramedic school confident on finishing on schedule. My question is this: Is there any 1 year Paramedic to RN programs in ohio or in the bordering states near somewhat near Cincinnati preferred. I cant seem to find many school names on google other than the online 1 year courses which I am not really interested in. I would like the classroom time so that I have someone to ask questions to. Anyway if you know of any schools in the near states or in Ohio that offer the 1 year paramedic to RN program I would greatly appreciate the names of the schools so that I can contact them to make a smooth transaction into the program. I am 20 years old and think that it would be best to get the license while I am still in school mode, I know its much harder to go back to school when you have a family so I figure I should do it now just because I dont know whats down the road. Anyway thanks for any help or advice you may have for me!

Contact your local community colleges that have RN programs- my school offers advanced placement in the RN program to paramedics and LPNs, but it's well hidden and poorly advertised on the website. Other CCs might have similar arrangements.

GL- my SO is finishing up paramedic school- his ride time begins in mid July.

i live in the miami-valley area and my hubby is a firefighter/medic. try clark state ( i have heard that they have a program, i am not 100% sure though) many medics i know get their rn through excelsior. they have a really good bridge program. i see that you wanted to do it in class though so excelsior might not work for you. it is a hard program to come by esp in this area. i will ask around so more and let you know if i find any others. good luck!:D

I dont know how close to INdiana you are but Ft.Wayne has one that i know of. I think they are becoming more popular though/

Thank you everyone for your tips I really appreciate it!

You may even consider online courses that can be completed in a year or less.

are the online programs hard to keep up with? I donno it just sounds like not having a teacher to know on a more personal formal level would be hard to learn the material completely on my own.

I completed the RN program at Excelsior college. I thought it was an excellent transition from the paramedic role.

However, since you are looking for a regular classroom program, I know of one program in Ohio. Owens Community College in Toledo, OH has a paramedic to RN program.

Good luck!
