Interview help-questions in this format
Thank you very much, I've actually been reading a lot of the other threads to practice questions and I hope to go into this one prepared, the first interview I know I rocked I could see it in the directors face. They called me 2hrs later to set up the 2nd stage but from what I heard this is the most important stage, peer interviews decide if you get the job

Interview help-questions in this format
So I had a interview with this hospital for a different position a few weeks ago, and went through both stages of the interview. The second stage was something I never experienced. It was a peer interview with 3 of the charge nurses. The hard part was the format in which they asked questions. It went as follows. ...tell of a situation in your past experience that "so and so" relates to this "topic" and how did you overcome/handle it. I've never encountered questions as this where I was suddenly on the spot racing though all the memories of my past 5 years in healthcare to remember a story that pertains to the topic at hand. They asked 10 questions in this format in regards to various topics such as hippa, communication boundaries, conflict resolution, task management ect. I can't recall them all. Well anyway coming up in a week I have another peer interview in the same hospital for a different position, my dream job... I assume the questions will be in the same format as the peer interview of the first position since it's the same hospital. Does anyone have advice for how to prepare for these type questions also is there any websites with practice questions in this format where I may be able to prepare myself. Final question should I wear a suit to this second stage interview with peers, I wore a suit with the initial interview with the director of the icu and one of the managers. Thank you for any help or advice you can offer! Brandon

just passed nclex for illinois, but need ohio license
I just passed NCLEX on sat and was dumped by my girlfriend today. I have been living in Illinois to be with her. My family is back in Ohio. Is there any quick easy way of transferring my license to Ohio since I just passed NCLEX? Or do I have to follow all the steps of a endorsement?

Drug Compatibility Chart Problem- Please Help
Thank you very much I have been beating my head around how to answer this problem correctly, this is hugely weighted against me. So the only correct way you could give all three of these drugs at the same time would be though multiple lumens or multiple PIVs or a combination of the two, is that correct? I stated in my answer I would first contact pharmacy to confirm which path was correct, then I went into explaining what I would do if all were incompatible.

Drug Compatibility Chart Problem- Please Help
Client #1 has a primary IV infusing CLK (a fake drug) 500mg in 1000ml of D5W @ 125/hr. It is time to pass 10am meds. The following medications are ordered for your clients at 10 am : Client #1 – 1gram Drug X in 50 ml of D5W IVPB; infuse over 4 hours 500mg Drug Z in 100ml of D5W IVPB; infuse over 60 minutes Collect the equipment you will need to give the 10am meds. How will you determine which medication to administer first? A critical assessment prior to hanging an IVPB is compatibility. Using the chart below is Drug X and Drug Z compatible with the primary infusion? Explain the steps for hanging Drug X and Drug Z? Explain your answer.

Excelsior College Paramedic to RN Program ?
Hey betterlife! I donno if you still on this site or not, but I would like to tell you that I ended up taking your advice :) I finished my Medic program in Feb took National Registry passed on first try. Have been working as a medic since, well three months ago I started my prereq courses with Cincinnati States RN program. I decided to go to a traditional two year program, so far the classes have been super easy following my completion of medic school, granted I am just in prereqs, hopefully I will find another school without a 2 year waiting list and I can start actual nursing classes soon! I thought you may like to know that your advice really helped me out in the end lol, even though at first it was kinda a slap in the face haahaha jk well I hope you get my thank you! Brandon

Question about Greater Cincinnati RN Schools
Hello! I am currently finishing up my Prereq courses for the RN program at Cincinnati State, psych, soc, a+p ect. Well Cincinnati state has a 2 year waiting list following the completion of the prereqs before you can attend actual nursing classes....my question is does anyone know if any of the other greater cincinnati RN schools dont have a waiting list? Bohecker, Beckfield, any of the other local schools like that? I have a 3.2 GPA following my completion of firefighter and paramedic school at Cincinnati State also so I donno if its possible to get bumped to the front of the lines with that kind of GPA. Any info that you may have reguarding waiting lists would be greatly appreciated! I am looking get into nursing and complete asap while I am still in the school mode... Thank you for your input!!!!! Excelsior College Paramedic to RN Program ?
Betterlife thats a very valid point and its definately something I have put a lot of thought into, I just know that traditional programs have a long waiting list. One of the things that really got me into the thought of getting my RN is I have been doing a lot of clinical time in the ER with christ hospital in cincinnati, I love the ER its fast paced, the nurses there trust me to do what the patient needs to have done. One of the other things this reason kind of upset me, like you said about the 21 years old thing, I scored number 1 out of everyone for a firefighter/EMT job in a city outside of Cincinnati. physical course was easy and the interview went great, I didnt get the job and I think it was because I am 20.....I donno i just think that since I havent had a year off from school yet that I am still in learning mode. Everyone says when you stop its really hard to get back into school. I am single, no kids so when all that starts happening for me I think it will be really hard to get back into school. If I have my firefighter license, my paramedic, and my RN I could work 2 full time jobs and secure a decent life for my future family.....I donno what I will decide yet. I have about 5 months left of medic school....didnt really want to do another 2 years but maybe I will if I can afford it.

Excelsior College Paramedic to RN Program ?
As a current student of the program Drysolong what do you have to say about it overall? Is it an effective way to learn the material for the RN licensing exam?

Excelsior College Paramedic to RN Program ?
Thanks, I am sure I can get through it studying independently. I just know I have had text books in the past that didnt explain everything to get a full understanding and have had to ask a instructor to explain in their point of view. From what I have read though on these forums it apparently has a decent success rate so I am confident I can do it. I am just wondering if it is easier to do a classroom course vs the online course.

Excelsior College Paramedic to RN Program ?
Hello, I have about 5 months left of medic school. I am attending Cincinnati State Community College. I am thinking since I am only 20 of doing the Excelsior College medic to RN program while I am still in school mode to have the RN job security and flexibility. My main question is how hard is it to learn without the classroom setting? Not having a teacher to 1 on 1 with if you dont understand something you read in the text? What was the hardest part of doing the Excelsior Online program for you? Is there still clinical hours that you had to attend? Does anyone have a link to the Excelsior medic to RN program that details the order of how things work for the next year? I am kind of nervous to doing an entire year of online training since I havent had any out of the classroom courses before. Any tips or comments would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Is there any Paramedic to RN 1 year bridge programs in Ohio?
are the online programs hard to keep up with? I donno it just sounds like not having a teacher to know on a more personal formal level would be hard to learn the material completely on my own.
