Is online ACLS renewal 'legit'?

Hey folks!

My ACLS is about to expire and i was wondering, can i renew it on-line?

I remember searching if it was possible many moons ago and if i can recall correctly, the answer i got was "it depends". Some employers would accept, and some not. That wasn't good enough for me so i went to a center. I also remember checking with AHA's website and they basically saying on-line is fake.

Well, now that it's 2017, i figure things have changed...yes? no?.

Online is not acceptable for my hospital. Their explanation, which I agree with, it how can someone be certified and ready if they haven't practiced and demonstrated the skills that they're being certified in?

All you can take on line is the study guide and written test. This site has to be an official AHA approved site. You have to be face to face with an ALCS instructor to demonstrate physically and verbally your skills to obtain a "legal" ACLS AHA card.
