Since you are using the phrase Masteral, suspect that you are from the Philippines as that is the only place that calls the Master's by this name.
You are going to have to go for licensure there first before you will be able to go to school there for the Master's degree.
Your degree will be recognized in Australia, but there are additional requirements that you will need to meet to be able to get licensed there as an RN and that is needed first of all.
Most important step is that you actually take and pass the NLE, this is required before they will even look at any of your documents or applications. Would focus on meeting the requirements for general licensure there first, before anything else.
Have moved this thread to the International Forum where it is more appropriate since it has to do with foreign training issues.
Best of luck to you.
tnx... given that i passed the nle here in the philippines, if i study diploma in nursing there in australia first, then i applied for the masters degree, after the masters, does it makes me eligible to be an rn? because i've seen in the website of university of sydney that after i've finished their masters degree in nursing, will be eligible for registration as a rn in the new south wales? how true is this?
thank you very much
You will be eligible after you obtain the BSN and follow the requirements for licensure there in Austalia. Does not make any difference if you get the Master's degree there, you still need to go thru the basic licensing requirements.
Makes much more sense to go this route than what you want to do as one cannot work while on the student visa. You also need to qualify as an RN there before one can usually enter a Master's program for most programs.
thanks.. im glad that someone like you really takes time to reply... thanks..
by the way, for your own opinion, where has a more conducive environment for students, in gold coast or in sydney? including factors such as cost of living like food expenses, accomodation and transportation and also safety? tnx have a good day! =)
It depends on the student, but take a look at my other response to you in your other thread. There is absolutely no reason to go for a second training just to get the RN there. It is not going to get you anything else or earlier, but will actually take you a few extra years to get it.

i think what the op's referring to is the master of nursing( graduate entry) that is offered by a couple of universities. this type of mn is a pre-registration course which will make you eligible for registration as rn after you graduate. this is just like a bn degree in a masters level.
to be enrolled in such course though, your degree in the philippines has to be recognised as a bachelors degree in australia. only some bachelors degree in the philippines are recognised as at par with that of australia - so it will be wise to double check this first.
another correction is, you are eligible to work under a student visa (with certain conditions).
thank you so much.. yeah ill double check.. bec. im somewhat confused,, i want to be an rn there and i still dont have an experience that is why im thinking if it's a nice idea if im just gonna go for a bachelors degree pre registration gradutae entry or masteral degree which enables me to be registered as a rn there... job here in the philippines is so limited... thank you again
We have a specific thread for your case. A lot of the information you need might be here:

The above is a really long thread, but it is worth reading. :)

but the programs that you are speaking of are for those that do not have nurse's training in the first place. he will already possess a bsn and can qualify for the rn license in australia if he completes the requirements for that. why should he go for a program that is going to be similar to the bn when he will already have the bsn?
this makes no sense whatsoever.
these programs are for those that possess a bachelor's degree in another field and instead of going for a second bachelor's degree, then can go for the master's. but it will also be much faster to get the rn licensure in australia by using the bsn that he will have in the first place as well as save thousands of dollars in tuition.
student visas there have the same requirements that the us student visas have, one cannot work more than 20 hours per week. it is not a correction to what i posted, i was correct in what i stated as well as the fact that the student has to prove that they are going to be able to provide for themselves and afford the tuition. remember that there is no country that will permit a full-time student on a student visa to attend school full-time as well as work full-time.
can you give me the requirements? do i still need to take exams to prove that im eligible for registration? what is the process? thanks
If you go thru the six month program there then you do not need to take any exams there and can get licensed there directly without going thru another nursing program. The only major requirement that you need to meet is that you must take and pass the NLE before doing a thing.
Each state in Oz has its own requirements, just like the US. Much has been written on this topic, please just do a search.
