Is LVN school as hard as RN school?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi everyone!

My future plan is to become an LVN before an RN, and I'm pretty curious as to whether LVN/LPN school is just as difficult as RN school. I've seen tons and tons of posts about the stress and craziness of RN school, but none from LVN side! My guess is that it's pretty much the same, but I'd love to hear what your experiences were.

Yes. Nursing school is nursing school. Consider an LVN education as merely the first half of your RN education. Personally, because I was already an LVN and practicing when I went through my RN program, I had a more solid foundation to build on and the concepts sunk in a lot easier. This made finishing my RN a lot easier than VN school, when I knew absolutely nothing.

I have completed both. They are equally hard. I would not not trade my LPN training for anything. It helped out alot during RN school and clinicals.

It all depends on:

-- Your educational "gap". What is your background? Is this radically different for you or not?

-- Your scholastic ability. Are you a 'happy learner' that has very little difficulty with reading comprehension, learning and remembering new things?

Your own motivation level and available support system will make a difference also.
