NCLEX is unlike any nursing school exam I have ever taken. I used variety of sources for content review (Exam Cram, kaplan content book, saunders & ATI) but most definitely what helped the most was the in-classroom Kaplan review course I did this summer. The only reason I took my exam 2 mons after kaplan was because of my nursing school delaying my paperwork to register for the exam. Kaplan questions were the closest to what real NCLEX questions are like. Follow their study schedule & learn their strategies and you will pass.
Exam Cram is great at summarizing content, I think its a good source for those students who need to see the big picture. Rather than just learning from the rationales. My Peds & Maternity classes sucked so learning the important material for those two areas in only 2 short chapters (5 - 10 pages) was awesome. It really helped me understand what I was answering w/kaplan. You get what you pay for and kaplan was worth every penny.
Kaplan all the way! 75 Questions and I was done.
I also used the Kaplan course, which was required by my program. Passed first time in 75 questions! Was definitely a scary experience, but Kaplan teaches you how to reason through questions even if you're not 100% solid on the content. I went through every single question Kaplan had in the database and looked up the answers for those I had incorrect. Reading and understanding the rationales, no matter how maddening, will help you pass.

I am thinking about purchasing Kaplan online, but I really don't know if I should or not. I was wondering if any of you think it is a good investment.
