People on the various forums have been sweet and kind to a fault, especially when disagreeing with someone...
...up until very recently. Now, we (very possibly including me) have at least been coming across as snotty.
My new holiday resolution is to re-read every post I make, at least through the holidays, and attempt to re-write anything that might sound mean or snotty, and make it instead sound kind and helpful.

It never hurts to step back and read something as they might sound to someone who is new around here. It has come to my attention that I've sounded that way on a few occasions - and thinking about it later I realized I was too sharp and caught up in the daily back and forth. There is no way I will have every thorn replaced with a daisy 'cause the Lord didn't see fit to make me that way-- but I appreciate the feedback even though not handling it very well at the time- and hopefully do some more of that picturing of where the other person is in their life. Onward!
Happy Holidays to my Allnurses Friends. :christmastree:
Oh, I don't know...what's Christmas without a bit of "bah Humbug"...?
The snotty ones usually contribute to some interesting threads, but I agree, there are ways and ways of saying things.
Here, have a cookie!
I think that cookie is giving me a dirty look. It mocks me. I am offended. Think I'll have this instead. :candy:
Nope, some people are just plain b*t*hy. This fact does NOT just apply to women, but also men! These are the same people who walk around thinking that the world owes them something. I think I dated a few of them in the past or maybe, my past life?? It's a fact, if u pay attention enough - you'll see, meet, hear them -- they're everywhere.
It's just NOT because it's the holidays. There are really people out there, who just irritate the cr*p out of ya, give u a rash?? or both! haha. Eww.
P.S. The b***y people are on these boards lol. Happy Holidays ya'll!
As a former moderator in a chat room, I noticed that many times people will read into a posting their own emotions. This happens here too. We just need to give people the benefit of a doubt when reading postings and take into account our own emotional status.
Sometimes the incessant whining and repetitive career questions -should I take this job-should I go to nursing school-should I....etc. gets on my last nerve. I just log out of here when I see myself getting evil
Things I would like to post but don't:
Put on your big girl panties and GROW UP
If you don't know if you want to go to nursing school-do some shadow days-talk to some nurses- Get off your butt and do some research!!! Not just ask on a discussion board for input!!
If you are that miserable in your job, why in the H### ask us what to do! Use your brain and look for another job!
We had to do our own careplans in nursing school-Don't think for one minute that we are going to deprive you of that "learning experience" and help you cheat!
I'm sure the rest of you could add to this list.

Or there's always the saying that "everyone contributes something, if only to set a bad example from which we can learn." heh..............
