Is it easy to get hired in a hospital if you work there as a transporter?

I just wanted to know if being a patient transporter is helpful to get hired as a nurse. Lucky for me, the hospital I applied at still hires LPNs. I'm currently in the hiring process. They even had a jobfair recently that hires all levels of nursing. I had a interview at a different hospital for a nurse assistant position but was turned down for it. So I wanted to know if being a patient transporter gives me the same advantage as a nurse assistant. My friend was able to transition from nurse assistant to an RN very easily at his hospital.

I wouldn't think so, unless the hospital has a policy that any employment gives an applicant points in the application process for a different job. CNA work at least related to nursing care. Transport, not so much.

I don't know about "easy," but most employers give some small advantage to people who are already employees. I would think it would at least help to some extent.

Where I work, no. Being a CNA would help, as you would be known to the nursing staff and could get recommendations if your work was good. Transport? Nope.
