Is anyone here loving nursing school?

:specs:Hi everyone. Is anyone here loving nursing school? If so, what is it that you love so much?:heartbeat

Also, is there anyone here who maybe isn't managing well? If so, what is going on?:uhoh3:

:dncgcpd:I am currently in the first quarter of nursing school at Galen. I am getting ready to start 2nd quarter in two week. So far, it has been tolerable.:anbd: I seem to be managing well. I am lucky because I don't have to work. I commend anyone who works while going to school.:yeah:

I just want to hear from some students to see how things are going for them. Feel free to talk about whatever. If you need to vent, that is fine too.:hlk:

well right now..i am not loving nursing school so much.

i like my free time..i like to have time to sleep in or watch my tv shows at night (the bachelor, american idol, biggest loser, etc.) and nursing school is getting in the way. but i will say that i like being busy too..i like knowing that i am making strides towards graduation..it makes me feel accomplished and i definately celebrate even the smallest achievements (passing blood pressure check off, forcing myself to study, a finished clincal day, etc) :anpom:. i beleive that hard work and play both come in moderation..and so far i feel like i have been able to maintain that balance. sometimes you just have to study and there are no excuses to be made :anbd:..other times, when school permits, fun can be had..even if it is in the form of wine *wine and the bachelor/

I am loving it, but of course, it isn't perfect. I enjoy taking care of patients and learning how the body works-it just fascinates me. But then again, I don't get to see my friends or fiance as much. I work as well. That's why I try to give myself "me time", otherwise I wouldn't know how to handle my time effectively.

I have to keep telling myself that there is a reason why I am doing all this. I'm halfway there! :nurse:

Yes and no. My first semester was a breeze. Some political nonsense, but Christmas break helped me get over that.

I'm doing Med/Surg now and it's way more stressful. The material is far more intense, but it's fascinating at the same time. We're spending less time in class and more in clinicals which is great. Clinicals scare the crap out of me but I love them at the same time.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE nursing school! The nursing process makes sense to me and I love learning how meds work. I LOVE learning new skills and I'm usually one of the first to volunteer for the check-offs (although I still shake from nerves)! I can't wait for clinical to start and I also come home energized! Today I made a 100% on the pharacology quiz and I really feel like I know the information! I love my instructors and there has been no political drama that I know of....although my instructor knows my name which makes me a little nervous.

Other than that, I don't really have any huge gripes. I still don't know the majority of my classmates yet but feel that a couple of them have formed an opinion of me that I'm a "teacher's pet" which I'm not really...I just need to make sure I'm grasping the information and I'm still super excited to be there!

Good luck with school everyone!

I definitely don't love nursing school! Some days it feels like torture, but I know I have only 1 quarter left and I have to keep going that it will pay off. I do however, love the feeling of passing my nursing exams.
