I sent in my application the third week in December. I am suppose to receive notification of the test date two weeks before I am scheduled to take the test. So far the only thing I have received is a letter stating that the study guide's are on back order. I'm getting pretty ansty. Is anyone else applying for this program?

This is a link to the website. My mother did the program in 1989. It's an accelerated day program. You have to go full-time. I believe the hours are from 8a-4pm. My mom said it wasn't easy but it is the fastest track to getting into nursing. The program is geared to roll into Helene Fuld's ADN program. At least it was when she went...I don't know if it still is though.
HTH's!

Hi Fallon: I read what you posted and I wanted to know if this for the LPN training or for the test? I am interested in taking an accelerated LPN course and I am wondering where in Manhattan is this possible... I would appreciate any information you could pass on. Thank You!

I've decided to not pursue mid-manhattan. I am going to go for my RN instead...but here is the link. You can still download and submit your app. BUt hurry! You only have until Feb 4th. They won't accept it after then. It's a ten month accelerated program..but it is days only. I believe that Westchester and Nassau County BOCES also have 10 month LPN programs...but I don't know anything about their app procedures. HTH :)

I can definitely relate to what you're saying about getting your notification letter. I start Western Suffolk BOCES LPN program in two weeks. I took the test the first week in October, then it took a month for them to send me notification about whether or not I had passed :uhoh21: . In that letter they invited me to an interview. The interview date I got was the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and they said that I should have an answer by the first week in January. Guess what...I got my letter the 2nd week in February. Needless to say, I was definitely on edge. I'm just thanking God that I got in after all of that waiting :) . For anyone interested in LPN or RN programs in New York you can go to the New York State Department of Education's website and they give you a list of all the programs that are offered in New York State (broken down by area). It tells you whether the program offers accelerated, day, evening classes, etc.

Hi Falon,
If you don't mind me asking, why did you change your mind about mid-manhattan? Did they ever get in touch with you? Is that the same school that is located on 127th Street uptown.
Just being curious, I am looking around at various schools. Thanks for any info you can provide.
