IRSC Spring 2016 hopefuls!

Published

Hello everyone. I'm currently enrolled in my last set of pre-reqs for the RN program. In my microbiology classs, I noticed there is high anxiety because the applicant pool looks strong this year and 90% of my class are nursing applicants. I would like to start a support group, for passing along information, questions, advice, or just emotional guidance. We can all be nurses. We can all do it. Let's help each other get there! Does anyone have any tips for the NLN exam? Unfortunately, I have class and cannot attend the free review sessions.

Now we wait! Gahhhh! :***:

A friend of mine told me "if you are meant to be a nurse nothing and no one can stop you!" It will happen, we just have to believe in our purpose! Good luck to everyone!

Hi, my scores are nln 140 overall 172. Hopefully we will not have to wait too long. Good luck to everyone!!!

My total is 156.

My total is 147. I seem to be the lowest on the forum :( Trying to remain positive :)

My total is a 145 í ½í¸« I wish they would take into consideration other things. I've been a EMT in the army for 4 years and currently a PCT at the hospital.

When do they tend to send out the letters? It says that it could take up to 8 weeks, but that seems long. I tend to be a worry wart, but it does seem like the applicant pool is a lot stronger this semester. I felt good after I took the NLN, but now I don't know!

Good job!My chances arent looking to good anymore.

it seems me and you are in the same boat

Thank you so much for sharing this. I did not know that they did this for LPN's. I am a LPN for 5yrs now. I was planning to do the NLN in March because i just wasnt confident because i hadnt studied at all. Because i had classes all Summer and now all Fall. A friend of mine told me to take the exam anyway. I went in blindly and took it without studying today 9/2/15 since it was the last possible day to take it, not expecting anything much. My hopes were at "Zero" until i read your posting. I got only 114 on the NLN but (bear in mind that i didnt study) plus it was my first time taking the NLN not knowing what to expect. I ran out of time on the Verbal and Math section, I did complete the science/physics with 20 mins remaining. If what you say is is correct; about them accepting LPN's with minimum score of 100. That would be awesome. I may have a better outlook now. So My scores were NLN 114+30 points for A&P and MCB and GPA 3.75 so far, not including my last 2 classes i'm now enrolled in. Overall total is 144 then..Not expecting much, If i don"t get in I will study and take it again, no big deal at least i know what to look out for next time. Thank You

did you turn in a copy of your license

If they send out letters the way they have in the past two semesters we should have them Sept 18th.

That's good then. I'm scare already.

It seems as though there are alot of applicants, i called the nursing department to inquire about my scores not being updated and they said they were kinda backed up but they are getting to them. i took the NLN from last week Wednesday and it still has not been updated.
