IRSC spring 2014 hopefuls!

Published

Hello all! I just wanted to start a topic for those of us applying to the 2014 ADN program at IRSC. I am so excited to finish my prerequisites and apply! LetsAll compare our application processes and wait to hear back from the program together! My names is Emily and I am taking a&p1 and micro this summer, then taking the NLN in August and submitting my app!

Tell me about yourself !

I thought we couldn't register for classes until 10/30/2013. Jen915 am I missing something?

Robin, I was able to do early registration. I called and talked to Juliana and she said it was ok.

I did my finger printing yesterday as well. How do you know what to register for? Is there a reference number we were given?

The RN page of the IRSC website had it. 191737

Also is there any paperwork for the flu shot or do we only have a form for the declination? I didn't see a flu shot form for when we get it in the packet.

They handed me a flu shot form when I left the first meeting. If you decline you might get problems with clinical. I already got one through my work, so she told me to bring in the paperwork for it.

If you can I would go ahead and try and get your flu shot before clinicals. I know last year at IRMC employees who had not had their flu shot within a few weeks of flu season had to wear a mask at all times while in the building. This included visitors as well. Wearing a mask for a 7+ hour shift is no fun.

I don't plan to decline but I couldn't find a form for the actual vaccine just for the declination. So I haven't gotten it done yet. What does your form look like?

I've seem to have misplaced mine too, but I'm pretty sure the only thing we were handed in regards to the flu shot was the declination form.

I cannot get on to register! The site must have alot of traffic right now. I've been trying all morning

I had the same issue, just keep trying. It took over an hour of trying to get logged in to register.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any alternates/if any have gotten into the program? I'm still waiting patiently...or not so patiently. :p
