IRSC Fall 2014 Hopefuls!

Published

Hey everyone! I know this is super early to be talking about the fall semester but I just got my denial letter for the Spring 2014 semester so I wanted to make this group for anyone that's applying or didn't make it in like me. I got a 109 score on my NLN exam which makes my total points for program 130. I took A&P I & Micro which accounts for my points. I would like to retake the NLN in 6 months & hopefully I can do much better. I'm currently enrolled in A&P II & plan on just studying my butt off for the nln in the process. Classes I have left before I'm done with all my "pre-requisites" are A&P II (which I'm currently in), Chemistry, and Nutrition. (which I plan on taking those in spring/summer). Maybe we can get a study group together eventually if anyone is interested! Best of luck to everyone! :)

I can only hope the applicant pool isn't as high as last semester! I was an alternate last time around with a total score of 152. In the end I only know of 3 alternates that got accepted, including one who got the phone call the Friday before classes were to start on Monday! We will see how this time goes around. Letters last time went out 3 weeks past application deadline. So let's hope for an answer by April! Good luck to everyone!!!!

I'm applying with a total score of 155. Does anyone know how many people normally apply?

No idea how many apply, it's always top secret and hush hush :(

:( sorry for the all the questions I'm looking at my NLN test result sheet, and was wondering who / what reference group we are being compared to in the relative performance section. Is the reference group IRSC? Thanks I'm so anxious lol! Good luck to everyone

How exciting everyone! Congrats on the awesome 150+ scores. Hopefully everyone gets their exceptance letters soon! I took the exam in February and my composite was 161. Tomorrow is the deadline!! The next few weeks are going to fly by hopefully. My biggest influence was the NLN Review Guide and I found 963 vocabulary on a Google link (which I only could get to 200+NLN book). I studied that book for months, until I memorized it. Never the best test taker, but it improved my score from a 114 to a 133 on the exam. GOOD JOB ON THE GREAT SCORES! .

I was wondering the same thing Julie!

Thats a good idea Mackenzie, if I don't get in this go around I might just steal that idea for spring!

gators52_20 you are going to do fine. At first studying the Review Guide for the NLN was a little overwhelming. But, I would highly recommend it. By the time the NLN exam date came around I felt that I was better prepared then last time. I also studied the Vocabulary Quizlet which I found words from the packet were directly on the NLN (every little bit counts). Here is the link NLN Vocabulary flashcards | Quizlet.

I hope so, I have the study guide as well, honestly I studied for a week and took the exam. In hindsight I wish I had studied for a month, I know I could have done better, specifically on the math. Oh well, like I said if I don't get in I'll prepare harder the next go around. Thanks for the kind workds Mackenzie!

Does anyone know how many people applied this semester?

It's so hard to wait!!

It's never said about how many applied but I would say 150 minimum.

That's so stressful to think 150 applied Aaahhhh :(. I really hope I get in.
