So I have been on countless interviews that all seem to go well, even some that are ipn knowledgable. Nothing, nada, zip on being hired.i have a 6 month key restriction and at this point have all but given up on returning to work as a nurse. Can anyone recommend facilities in Florida that are IPN friendly? I'm going to have to start slinging burgers soon....

I work for Fresenius dialysis . All we give are basic meds like zofran, Tylenol, vitamins and iron. Goof luck , praying u find a job soon.
Jrod1219, BSN, RN 3 Posts Jun 30, 2017 Have you tried non clinical positions like Utilization Review or Case Management? I did that while I was on restriction until I got off. Look at Treatment Centers and or hospitals. Otherwise hospitals such as tenet and HCA are IPN friendly at least in palm beach county.
emergencynurse2011 18 Posts Sep 1, 2017 Have you asked about going on vivitrol to get your narcotic restriction lifted? I got hired at a SNF after i got mine lifted. Other than that, try doctors offices or dialysis clinics...they usually don't require narcotics. Also, you can volunteer at free clinics and that will count towards your narcotic restriction time! Wish I had known that when I started!
bjlr90 12 Posts Oct 18, 2017 I have had to have my 5 year contract extended due to not having a job. I finally agreed to Vivitrol injections which eliminated my key restriction. Currently working at a hospital. You need to get past human resources and right to the nurse manager that needs the coverage.
Sarecamp 18 Posts Nov 22, 2017 Does anyone know how and in what circumstance IPN will lift narc restriction if you get vivitrol shot? Just got contract and have narc restriction but have heard others have gotten it lifted by getting this shot?
bjlr90 12 Posts Nov 22, 2017 Send an email to your case manager stating you intent to do so. It has to be approved by their medical director then your case manager will send you their decision. They also have a list of places that do the injections. It is VERY expensive but there are programs out there that can put you in a program that covers the cost.
Sarecamp 18 Posts Nov 22, 2017 Thanks for the info. I've found a place I can get it. I'm just hoping that it gets approved. Do you know under which circumstances they approve it or not? Have you known others that both have and haven't gotten approval?
bjlr90 12 Posts Nov 22, 2017 The only person I know that has not gotten approval is a nurse in my nursing support group that has been through IPN more than once. He is the only person I know that has not been approved. What part of Florida are you looking to get the injection?
