in the program now, second semester.
i think i pulled the following info directly from the ut-houston website last year:
school's goal: self-directed nursing generalists who are able to function in a variety of settings.
evaluated on:
looking for:
the writing sample just asked how you would handle/react to a given situation. i think the goal is to figure out whether you are an analytical thinker or not.
a tip i received from a friend...when they ask you why you want to be a nurse don't say "to help people". they want a response that takes a little more thought than that.
i would research the school and also search the web for information regarding nursing and what it means to be a nurse.
hope this helps! good luck!!:)

does anybody have any experience with the Brookhaven nursing school (Dallas) - the one that branched off from El-Centro a year ago or so....their program is new so does this mean it's a risk to go there? do they have a good name out there, in hospitals etc?
how is their program compared to Collin County?
thanks so much.....I have about a week left to take the HESI and apply....

They had roughly 400-450 people to interview (well not really interview)....so about a 25% chance as I see it. All we can do it wait!!
I called UTHSC she said that there are 130 slots but I was wondering how many people are they interviewing? Does anyone know? I just went to my interview a couple of weeks ago now im just so antsy. I wanna know what are the chances.

I wish everybody that applied to an BSN program will get accepted. :)
My first school of choice was UTHSC, but I think I be just as happy to get into TWU Houston, my GPA consist right now of an 3.91. so I think l will get an scholarship easier at TWU than at UTHSC
HBU would be my least school of choice, simply of their high tuitition rate, but hey if none of the others will accept me, I guess we just have to suck it up for the next 2 years...
25% chance of admittance is not bad, so guys don't worry, I think we all have a good chance to get accepted. :)
Peace Ginger

UTHSC was my first choice, but I got accepted to TWU a semester earlier than I anticipated [since UT only admits in the fall] and it's pretty nifty. If you have any questions about TWU, email me at redefintion @ msn. com
