How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.
I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Hi. I'm Cindy. I'm a 38 year old mother of two children (boy and girl). I just finished my pre-reqs (except for Technical Writing which I've been delaying on account of the 25 page paper. LOL) and will be starting clinicals on January 13th. Just call me "Scared to Death!".
Nice to meet you all.

Hi all, my name is Tess. I'm 27 years old, married for 5 years to my childhood sweetheart (a police officer) and have one daughter 2 1/2 (light of my life). i'm starting my last semester of a 4 semester ADN program in January. i'm so excited and nervous at the same time. i just started a job last july as a nursing tech on the mother/baby unit at our local hospital. they are already saving a position for me for after graduatation. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY JOB!!! i had thought all along that i wanted to work ER (i'm an EMT also) but i had a family tragedy (lost my 21yo only brother this last oct. to a MVA) and decided that's not a dept i can deal with. so i'm happy where i am. i'm looking forward to getting my world back together and getting this last semester over and done with. give me a couple of years to decide if i'm going back to get my BSN. :-) Good luck and best wishes to all my fellow nursing students!!!

Hi All!
My name is Carl. I am 43 years old, married, with no kids and I will be just starting my preq. next month. Afterwards I hope to start an Accelerated BSN degree. I currently have a BSEE and a Masters degree.
There are two schools near me that have accelerated programs, and their preqs are pretty similar. I will be applying to both of them soon and then I suppose I will have to nail down exactly what I need to take.
This is a great forum. I look forward to coming here as my new career progresses.
Oops guess I missed this before...better late than never right?!
Hi! My name is Shelly and I'm a nursing tudent. (everyone says "hi shelly!")
I'm 32, married (for 12 1/2 years, but who's counting), 4 kids (18yo stepdaughter, 11 yo girl, 9 yo boy, and 4 yo boy) that's 2 and 2 !!! There shouldn't be anymore!!! 2 dogs: Chainy a pound puppy - boxer mix we've had for 2 years and Emma who's a pure black lab and 4.5 months old (weighing nearly 50lbs!!!!!)
I'm starting my second semester of a 4 semester ADN program! Almost halfway there!! All my prereqs are done although I found out that to convert to a BSN I need a couple more GEs.
Loving every minute of nursing school!!! I was born to do this!!
sorry it took me so long to "introduce" myself!
