I was told it was carrying high, it's a girl. And carrying low, it's a boy. Being pregnant myself, i'm asked about this almost daily!!

I don't think it was against HIPAA law either. The other friends voluntarily gave their names and addresses and you fixed them for her to be able to read. She didn't gain any other information than what the other people had given her. Also, the information that she gained is usually the same info that can be obtained by looking in the phone book or calling information....how is that a violation?? i would also be fighting the write up!!! sorry this happened to you and your boss.

if i'm thinking correctly, a friend of mine who works at a HCA hospital got a $2,000 sign on bonus. 4 or 5000 sounds really nice!!!!

i'm a nursing student and am also married to a cop. most everyone is right about the fact that i can come home and vent to him about a stressful shift and he totally understands. he, too, is lucky enough to get to deal with some of our beligerant folks of our society. :-P it does worry me that he is out there protecting us against people who want to hurt others and him. but, he's happy doing what he does and i wouldn't be able to live with myself if i insisted that he have a factory or desk job that i know he would hate. there are several other couples in our PD that are nurse/cop, but around here i find more EMS/cop couples. it does make for an interesting relationship for sure!!! ~Tess
