How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.
I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.
Care to share?
Hi, I am new to AllNurses.com and I love it. I am beginning my first quarter of six quarters in 12 days. I am anxious, nervous and very excited. I am 29 years old (at least for another 6 weeks) I have 2 kids. My son is 12 and my daughter 3. I would love to chat with someone in a similar situation. WE live in Portland, Oregon and I am attending Clark College in Vancouver WA.
Yeah class of 2007 :balloons:

Kayel,
Nice to meet you "fellow October person". I am going through a ADN program and hope to transfer to Washington State Univ. to complete the BSN. Well see, after I start working I don't know if I will feel like continuing on. Are you in school still or are you a real "RN" now?

Jatonna,
Don't give up on your dreams. "If you can dream it begin it" Goethe Although you have already began, there is always a way to finish. Before you know it you will be an RN and you and your kids will be very proud of your accomplishment. :yelclap: Stay strong. Keep posting.

Hi, Janice!! I know you will find a lot of good resources on this board and likely a few friends to boot!! Welcome to the forums!Hi. My name is Janice. I am 30, married, and the mother of three. I started nursing school this August. I am feeling a little overwhelmed by it all, but know the effort is going to pay off in the end.

It's West Shore Community College in Scottville, MI
Just a little Community College hidden among farms in Northern MI, but they have a great reputation. I have quite a drive to get there, but I consider it worth it to get a good education. But are they tough!! They have an adjusted grading scale that's very tough, and quite a number of people have to retake some classes to get a passing grade. In our first test, if we spelled ANYTHING wrong, it was wrong. One poor guy spelled reservior wrong, and he missed the entire detailed question.
