Intro Chemistry OCC or OU?

Published

Does anyone have any recommendations as far as instructors for Intro Chem at OCC or OU? Also, would you advise against taking BIO and CHE at the same time?

Thanks!:)

We have less than 2 weeks to go. So glad we did our last lab last wed.

My teacher turned out to be pretty easy, email me if you want to know who I have.

Hi MInurse2b2010

I saw your post and wanted to ask you a question -

I too am taking my pre reqs at OCC for OU's accelerated 2nd degree program. Just wondering did you take Anatomy at OCC (i know you have to take AP I and II) or did you take BIO 121 at OU? I'd like to save as much $$ as I can, but it's one semester at OU vs two semesters at OCC. Just trying to get feed back as to the best way to take my pre reqs! Thank for your help

Hi steph7510,

I took anatomy at OCC because of the cost. Also, since my prior degree is not in science, I was a little concerned about squeezing anatomy into one 15-week class. At OCC Auburn Hills I took Anatomy 2630 in the Winter (January - April) and 2640 in an accelerated summer session (May/June). That way I got about 22 weeks of anatomy. I enjoyed my teacher and the class, and the preparation definitely helped with my patho class this semester at OU!

Thank you for your response MInurse2b2010.

I like your strategy on anatomy. Good luck with the program. I’m looking forward to getting where you are now!

If your looking at Orchard Ridge, you may want ot look at Southfield... The teacher I took this semester wasn't that bad, I know if I would've put more effort into studying I would've gotten a better grade.

Hi cs81:

I recommend Mr. Grunfeld at the OCC southfield campus. He was not hard. Learn your formulas. If u need a tutor ask for Adrienne Schols, she is great. she also, attends one of his classes as a in class helper.

I had him in 2007 and got a A. Good luck.
