No, I did not attend the TC program. I decided to take a different route in healthcare.

    Hepatitis B Vaccine Side Effects

hello, i experienced persistent side effects after receiving the first hep b vaccine as a child. due to prolonged weakness that accompanied nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, etc. (side effects that lasted about 3 months causing me to miss a lot of school), my pediatrician advised no more hep b shots. now that i am older and seeking a career in healthcare (him and/or rn), i am wondering what to do in regard to this vaccine. should i take it? thanks!

    Need some guidance

I am in a position to graduate with a B.S. in Healthcare Management next year. I could, however, begin an ADN program this fall (there are no BSN programs in my area). I really want to be an RN, but am thinking maybe I should complete the healthcare management program and then look into a second degree BSN. On the other hand, I like the idea of being able to begin clinicals this fall. Will the undergraduate healthcare management degree provide any benefit to my career in nursing? Any advice? Thanks!

    UNMC / NMC

Hi, I am looking at UNMC and NMC as prospective colleges for the BSN program. All I can see online is how they differ in prereqs, so I'm just wanting more info on each school and how their programs compare and are recognized in the area. Thanks!

    UNMC / NMC

Just wondering how the Trad BSN programs at these two schools compare as far as acceptance, pass rate, quality, etc... Thanks!

    Texarkana College

Yes, I am. I've checked out their Web site, as well. My family will likely be relocating to the area, so I'm just trying to learn something of the college's reputation or experiences of other students who know more about their ADN program...

Can anyone tell me more about the ADN program at this school? Is it a good program, etc? Thanks!

opinion about nsu shreveport vs panola in carthage...

Not good news. I am planning to get a BSN but want to complete the ASN so I can begin working sooner. Wonder why the pass rate is so low... Aren't clinicals for a number of schools completed at shared hospitals?

opinion about nsu shreveport vs panola in carthage...

I am already a student at NSU-Shreveport, and am now hearing some bad things being said about their Nursing program. Why is this? I thought NSU was a good school with a good rep. Didn't start hearing negatives about it until after I enrolled.

    NSU-Shreveport

I am taking Intro Chem and Human Anatomy online. I am currently out of state helping my parents prepare for a move down south. There is a lot of terminology to learn for the anatomy class, so that has me worried about having time for chem... and vice versa.

    NSU-Shreveport

I have four prereqs to finish before I can apply. I am taking two of them this semester, but I may drop to one because they are each so demanding and my life is kind of hectic right now. If I am able to finish them all according to plan, I should be able to apply for clinicals by fall. Have you taken the TEAS test yet? What sort of preparation is available?

    NSU-Shreveport

Any NSU Shreveport students here? Can you tell me about the application process for clinicals, competitiveness, and space available? Is there a wait to start after applying? I'm not ready yet, but would just like to have an idea of the current situation. Thanks!:)

    Why did you choose Nursing?

My inquiry comes as a result of the discouragement I am feeling by the long line to the door of the School of Nursing (after I'm eligible to apply!), and because of the similarities in the nursing fields I'm interested in pursuing with some of the focus areas available with the BSHS. I understand there is greater overall career flexibility with the BSN and more opportunity to pursue other interests in nursing (i.e., neonatal, nursery, L&D, etc.); this is why I initially decided to pursue a BSN. If anyone can share info re: the role of care involved with the BSN vs. BSHS with a focus in exercise, nutrition, or physical therapy -- please do! OU also offers a WHP Major that seems interesting. If anyone has any info to share regarding that program, I'd love to read it! Thanks for your input!

    Why did you choose Nursing?

Why did some of you choose BSN instead of BSHS?*

    Why did you choose Nursing?

After a quick overview of some of the health sciences degrees available, I'm feeling torn between one of those or the BSN program. Why did you some of you choose BSN instead of BSHS? Thanks, Courtney
