Interviewing prior to NCLEX

Published

Is it something wrong with interviewing with a hospital prior to taking NCLEX? Im not sure I see how its an issue when a hospital wants to set up an interview with a candidate. The candidate works for that same hospital system in their clinics as an MA. Is there some policy that says you shouldn't interview before taking NCLEX? Thanks for your input, greatly appreciated!

While you are focusing on the NCLEX only, you're probably leaving that door wide open for someone else. I agree w/ PP's. If you're fortunate enough to get interviews you should seize the opportunity and run w/ it. I'm sure there are plenty of candidates, and they don't need to wait for someone to be ready to interview. In the words of our wise Esme, there's no nursing shortage!

I got my first job offer before I graduated, and took my NCLEX just before starting. I put a "GN" sticker over the "RN" on my name tag until I had my pass results and was officially an RN.

I agree with not turning away from an opportunity, I mean its not like Im still in nursing school I am done already and Im pretty prepared for the test. Im not stressed or worried bout anything I did enough of that In school :woot: so Im ready to get it in. Im grateful for ppl helping me though.

Im only asking cause someone I know is a nurse and she said I should call to reschedule my interview so I can focus on NCLEX only.

Really REALLY bad advice. An interview takes what, an hour? Two? There is no way this will get in the way of you studying.
