Interview tomorrow but just got an email. . .

Specializes in neuro/med surg, acute rehab.

So I'm supposed to have an in-person interview tomorrow at a local clinic for a job. They called me on Tuesday to ask for an interview.

Just now, I received an email thanking me for applying to the position, but they had hired someone else (!?!?)

It's too late to call (they are closed) so do I call in the morning to see if they still want me to come? Isn't that. . .odd??

Sigh. . .trying to find a non-hospital job is tough.

The email regarding the application was computer generated. Ignore it.

Show up 15 minutes early for your interview.. dressed to nines... knock 'em dead.

Let us know how it went.

Specializes in Critical Care; Cardiac; Professional Development.

Definitely still show up.

I'd still go. Even if the position you applied to is taken perhaps another is available.

Specializes in Psych ICU, addictions.

I'd go as scheduled, or at least call. It may be a auto-message, or the position may have really been filled. But as no one had the courtesy to cancel your interview, presume that it's still on. Best of luck.

I went and they offered me the job, but they only needed someone PRN and I need full time. She couldn't guarantee hours. I KNOW the ad said full-time.

Oh well. . life goes on. . .I have another interview next week with Humana. I consider today a practice run.

Speaking of emails I am curious if the readers in here use an email address solely for work, strictly apart from their personal email addresses for friends, family? If not, I'd suggest doing so- you never know where your email messages can end up, you can forward by accident a personal email to your employer, or any number of possible disasterous things. As far as cancelling an interview via email, it's a sad commentary of where civility is headed.

Show up eager, early, and dressed to impressed. Good Luck
