Is it alright to send a thank you note via email if the manager provided their email during the interview? Or should it be sent via snail mail?

I would send them a card so they can plunk it on their desk and have it stare them in the face every morning. (that's what I did) :)

i typically just send an email. of course i am still unemployed, so maybe you should try the other method. haha.
lol, Dumplins. I did go ahead and mail it. I'm hoping it gets there before I go back to shadow on the unit later this week.

I think that an email thank you is acceptable in this day and age :).

These days, I would send it e-mail ... because the position might get filled in the time it takes for snail mail to reach the person. When people send me a thank-you e-mail, I am OK with it. I think most people are OK with it.
Glad to hear so many in favor of email. I had another interview this week followed by shadowing today. I was pretty much given an informal offer today. I want to send a thank you for the shadowing opportunity and would like it to get there before I get the official offer, so email is pretty much my only option in this instance.
Thanks for all the opinions!

I had and interview today and I am trying to decide if I should send a thank you note via email. I think I may, it will be much faster.
Robin, just wanted to let you know how my experience turned out. I had two interviews last week. One I mailed the TY as soon as I got home from the interview. The other one, I emailed the TY a few days after my interview (after I shadowed on the unit). I got an offer yesterday from the unit where I emailed the letter...so at least in my experience, emailing seems to be alright. Good luck in your job search!
Thanks Maria for sharing that with me and congrats on the new position!
I had my interview on a Wed., sent my thank you note via email on that Thurs. morning and was offered a position that Thurs. afternoon. From my experience an emailed thank you was just fine.
Thanks, Robin. Congrats to you too!
