  1. Hello, I am a fairly new nurse working on an ortho/neuro/trauma unit. Feb 2013 will make it a full year since I've been employed here. Currently I am 16 weeks pregnant, but I have not shared this news with my place of employment yet. I was a little worried about the type of patients or activities I should avoid while being pregnant. My doctor didn't give me any restrictions besides advising me to use universal precautions. I plan to share this news once I began to show. Until then, I still would like to keep me and my baby safe while working. Can someone please advise me or share with me any restrictions I should use??
  2. After searching for nearly 9 months, I was finally offered a position in a Philadelphia hospital of my choice. I am very grateful and I can finally begin my nursing career. Thank you all for the encouraging words. And for those who are still in search of employment, please don't give up because your opportunity will be granted soon

  4. I had my interview on a Wed., sent my thank you note via email on that Thurs. morning and was offered a position that Thurs. afternoon. From my experience an emailed thank you was just fine.
  5. Thanks Maria for sharing that with me and congrats on the new position!
  6. I had and interview today and I am trying to decide if I should send a thank you note via email. I think I may, it will be much faster.
  7. @ maria25 and nursejaneRN Thanks a lot for the encouraging words. I needed to hear that :)
  8. Hello, I graduated with my BSN in May of 2011 and then passed my PA state boards. It is now Feb. 2012 and unfortunately I am still unemployed. I am beginning to lose hope
  9. Oh goosh, I know exactly how you feel. I graduated in May of 2011 with a BSN, and shortly after passed my boards. And till this day I remain unemployed!!! Every last single place requires that you have at least one year experience. I live in PA and I just don't know what else to do.
  10. Yes please. Any nursing job will do at this point. Thanks
  11. Hello, I am a new nurse as well from Philadelphia. I graduated in May 2011 and still have not found employment. It seems as if I submit 100 applications a day and no one is calling me back. Uggghhhhh!!! I just don't know what else to do at this point.
  12. Tacoma wow!! yes I am willing to relocate.
  13. Thanks I'll give it a shot.
  14. I am a new nurse in Philadelphia, PA. I graduated in May 2011 with a BSN and then successfully passed my state boards. As of now I have been unsuccessful in landing a job. So far I have had only 2 interviews. When asked why I was not chosen to be hired, they always reply "its due to my lack of experience". How in the world am I ever going to gain some experience if no one is willing to give me chance??? Fellow former classmates who have jobs now either were hired through a family member referral or had to move far away. It is now the end of the year and I am beginning to feel hopeless!! What am I to do
  15. I took my test on Friday and PASSED....thank u Jesus!!...I was able to find out my results really quick using that Pearson registration trick also!
