Interview for CSULB's Nursing School?!

Hey everyone who applied for CSULB's Fall '09 School of Nursing (And current/former CSULB students)! I got a call today to schedule an appointment for an interview with the nursing faculty. I did not know an interview was necessary and part of the process! I am very nervous and don't know what to expect for the interview! Has anyone else gotten a call regarding this?

When I answered and heard "..from California State University of Long beach" I thought I was gonna get news of acceptance, but nope, just to schedule an interview, haha.

now im scared... i called some friends of mine, and they said they had interviewed last week. My friend said there were only about 55 recipients on that email, and she told me there must be a second batch of email to the other 55 students( to complete 110 interviews).... I don't know if all 110 interviews have been given, but my last name starts with a Y, and just assuming that there will be another batch of emails sucks....... should i say that i didn't make it in, and throw in the towel?

Hello Everyone!!!

Someone who has been through the interview process, can you please help me out? i have my interview next week and am super scared. I have read almost all posts regarding interview and application and know its communication test....can someone tell me, what kind of questions they ask? I don't have a very good GPAs like what i have seen throughout the threads/posts ... but still have a little hope since they have called me for interview...i do not want to fail this...:( please help ! thanks

There's nothing really you can do to prepare for the "interview." I think it was just to see if you have effective skills to talk with people haha, it was quite pointless if you ask me. We watched a video and did a little recap about it by writing several short paragraphs and then did an exercise with a partner where we described objects to the other person and they had to place them accordingly, it was kind of fun actually.

Anyways, we should be getting a response about whether if we got in or not by the 17th, has anyone heard from them yet? I've been checking the mail everyday these past weeks and nothing yet!

Hii, I too got a phone call for an interview. I'm sooo incredibly nervous like all you guys im sure. From my call, I found out the people who are like the top 120 or something I believe, get interviewed, and then 90 are selected. I also heard that we will be watching a movie and will be asked to answer questions :eek: eeks!

Anyone going to the interview thats from the bay area? I spent a lot of money for my flight to go there, so I hope all will go well. My interview is on the 17th so i hope someone will post something before then on how it is. Well goodluck to all you guys!

I just called the automated number and it says im accepted to the university. woo hoo

Hi, iam new to the allnurses.com. i just got an email from cal state long beach for the nursing program. I have go through the interview. I know that you already accepted last year. How is the program? Is it hard? I am very nervous. Do you know what I should I do to ready for the interview? Can you please give me some ideas? Thanks alot!!!

Hi, to those who got accept to CSLB, can you please tell me the GPA and the teas scores you guys had. I am so stressed, I am applying now for Fall 2011. I want to see if I have a chance. I Have 4.0 gpa for sci, and 3.7 for GE....I haven't taken the teas yet..which version of study manual did you guys use to study for teas?

sorry I have so many questions, for instance, since i have cumulative gpa of 3.5, what happens if university rejects me because my gpa is low and nursing school accepts me?

Has anyone actually registered for classes? Like N200 or N202, the ones you don't need department/instructor consents for? I don't know whether we're supposed to wait for a certain time. Thx.

Since you have been through the interview procedure already, can you please share your experience with us? I have my interview coming monday, and every moment i think about it, I am more nervous. Can you please advice any suggestion about your interview please.

just be yourself. listen and understand the video shown, be as descriptive as possible when doing the activity, and participate in the group discussion at the end.

Remember, most people past. If you didn't... I guess you can't speak or write English.

the 90 spots are ALREADY pre-determined based on scores. the interview is just a communication skills test.

To be honest, I do not have a good GPA , I am very happy to be selected and surprised at the same time.

Now I feel since they have 90 spots already pre-dermined based on Scores...i see my probability very low :(

DO you know how many people they call in for interview?
