INTERNATIONALLY EDUCATED RNs - California Licensure Applicatn 2015

World Registration

I am a 2010 BSN graduate from the Philippines. On my application for licensure by examination, I was instructed by the California Licensing boards to take OBGYN theory and clinical to be eligible to take licensure exam in California. Do you know schools that accept internationally educated nurses into their nursing classes? I am from the Bay area so if possible I want to go to the nearest one. So far, Fresno City College, Samuel Merritt University and Evergreen Valley College are the most probable schools I might go to next year.

Thank you in advance.

Hello guys!

I am a foreign BSN graduate. On my application for licensure as Registered Nurse to Board of Registered Nursing (California), I was required to make up Obstetric Nursing (both theory and clinical practice) before taking the NCLEX RN. I live in the Bay area. Do you know schools that accept international students with this case?

Thank you.

Have you been over the World forum and under the Nurse Registration tab? There's plenty of discussions on the availability (or the lack of schools) in various threads.

Best source is to simply print out the approved CA BRN list of schools and start calling and e-mailing them as by the time, someone posts a school on this forum with some openings, many will just flood them and cause another waiting list. Good luck!

Hi lirioanna, after they ask for your cases they were already able to identify your deficiencies? Or did they ask for addtl docs like your logbook? Thanks

The BRN just asked for my cases and Summary of RLE. After that, they required me to get OBGYN.
