I went through the threads, someone said that NJ BON requires TOEFL as stated in their application form and another said that his/her IELTS was accepted in NJ and that s/he was given ETT, took the exam and passed. So, i am really in a great dilemma. Can somebody help? I emailed NJ BON twice about this matter but up to this time, no response from them. HELP!!! :o

If someone was already able to make use if the IELTS for NJ and it was accepted then it means they already accept it. As mentioned before, NJ only accepts TOEFL before but this doesn't mean they won't change their minds anymore. You can go for IELTS, now.

You can also e-mail CGFNS ask. CGFNS has a good track record of replying to applicant inquiries.

Do not worry too much about the IELTS not being accepted. The poster that posted that her IELTS was accepted by CGFNS' CES report for the NJ BON should give you the confidence that is already being accepted by the NJ Boards.

I advice to just go ahead and make your arrangements but at the same e-mail CGFNS just to be sure. Good luck

A representative from NJ BON Examination Section replied to my email (Thank God!)she said that "TOEFl is the only English Exam accepted by CGFNS. The results of that exam should be mailed to CGFNS directly from the organization."

So there, NJ BON only accepts TOEFL then.

Hope this helps others too.

Goodluck!

If you check out CGFNS VSC handbook it actually accepts IELTS as well here is the link http://www.cgfns.org/files/pdf/apps/VS%20Handbook%20Web.pdf page 4

You may want to confer that w/ CGFNS and take special note that she mentioned CGFNS as a whole and did not mention a specific service from CGFNS or what their own boards accepts. CGFNS has always accepted the IELTS in the past.

However, if you want to be sure then go ahead w/ TOEFL. Good luck.
