What subject/s do you think lacks in the Philippines' BSN Curriculum that we should take up compared to the US BSN curriculum?

None. Our curriculum is comparable to US. Coz if not, then the US hospitals wouldn't bother sponsoring Filipino nurses to work with them.

You guys sure?? anyway, i wanted to ask if anyone would know anything about this rumor i've been hearing about the Commission on Higher Education planning to make BS Nursing a 5-year course? Has anyone heard anything about this?

well theres no problem regarding the CHED proposal that they will be implementing a 5 years curriculum for nurses as long as philippines nursing education meets the US minimun requirmentments.

yeah, i was posting for the benefit of those contemplating of taking up nursing...add another year to the timetable...anyway, is there any truth to this rumor?

i have read the article and i guess it will benefit both side the students and the school. for the student it will add more years for them to have good nursing background and for the school more money to make.

From what I've heard, the clinical experience in the PI is superior to that in the US.

I agree and disagree, I got my BSN in one of the reputable university in Philippines and I am quite confident that I have a strong clinical background, but to say that we are superior, than our american counterpart? I would have to disagree to that. I am training new RNs, both with ADN and BSN here in US and I am impressed with their clinical skills.

I guess its a universal thing, some will be good in clinicals and some will be not, regardless on where you got your nursing education. I have trained filipinos too and like their american counterpart, some are good and some aren't.
