more about retrogression

Hello everyone, i heard the retrogression might end in August. Let us continue to pray for the best.

In theroy, what would be the most likely cut-off date for petitions?

The bill was introduced on 9th May and the Senate debate commenced on 21st May. Or would they disregard the exact date of introduction and just impose cut-off as since May'07.

Is there a precedent of any immigration act having retroactive action on petitions filed prior to its existence?

My petition was filed on 7th May so keeping my fingers crossed.

Right now, no one really knows for sure until the final draft is indeed signed and the CIR actually becomes law. Official cut-off dates will only be known if that time actually comes. Anything discussed beforehand are just based on speculation, personal interpretations of individuals or organizations/groups and are all non-bearing.

Just keep crossing your fingers, though and hope for the best. ;)

hi,

i found this link about merit based immigration that might affect registered nurses [color=#334477]http://www.nfap.com/pdf/0706pointsystem.pdf

I would not even focus on one bit of that, we do not even know if nurses will be included in the CIR. There is not one thing that has come out that is proof that nurses will be under that. Changes are coming out frequently, almost now at a rate that is too fast to count.

Even while I was sleeping, there were changes that were made and were posted this morning.

Hi Guys.Wew..I have been waiting for 3 years now for my EB3 Visa but here I am again caught by another retrogression..There are no other ways I think of but to wait again..i don't know till when...You guys think that 3 years is too long for an immigration process? My case has been approved,I already received my visa bill too..whoahhh waiting is a pain in the ___....I heard retrogression will be lift up on october.Hopefully it will..

All have to submit the I-140, whether AOS or via Consular Processing, and then it changes.

The AOS requires the I-485 and the petition for the EAD.

The CP requires the DS-230. Those going thru AOS do not use that at all.

Doubt that you were waiting for an EB3 visa for that long. RNs were under the Schedule A until this past February when the new Bulletin came out. What exactly in your case has been approved? The I-140? The DS-230? And have you received notification that your file is 100% complete? The retrogression is not going to be lifted in October, there are way too many from certain countries that wish to get a green card for the US.

And you have been waiting for three years? Sorry, but there is much more to the story, perhaps you got denied the first time, or something was not done correctly, but it is never three years if everything is done properly. You should have been in the US 18 months ago.. There is much more to this than is what is posted. Just not adding up at all.
