The country areas are great too - but my real bias is towards Melbourne - born and bred there - HOWEVER _ l beleive that every place in Australia has much to ofer and that we all love to boast about how good we all are - cause we are (ALL good) - does that make sense - anyway welcome

Hi, ya, I'm a Cannook and thinking about working in Australia or New Zealand, specialty Mental health any advise out there? Good locations? Hospitals? Thanks.

Travelbug - l think we may have to try and work out a thread for nurses who want to find work over here (we need and information type person such as Karen) who can pint you all inthe right direction
    However - First of
Search web sites for Australian nurses - state registration boards
The depending upon your qualifications - you can start looking from there - OK each state has its registration board and you cant work in a state unless you are registyered there - bummer l know - however you dollar is worth a lot more than ours -
Again depending upon if you want to work city / rural / outback
also where abouts your want to work ast wext coats etc - we have some very warm areas - top of Queensland / northern territory or sydney Melbourne Adelaide Pert and Adleaide
Or down on our beautiful appl isle Tasmania

JUst some thoughts to get you started

Hey all, for those overseas nurses who would like to work in australian, will have to go thru the australian nursing council, except for the nurses from NZ, England, Singapore, South africa and HK.
Each states in OZ have their own nursing council BUT if the overseas nurse applies to the state board, they will refer him/her to the Australian nursing council which is the legal nursing body of the country.

    Heres the site http://www.anci.org.au
