  1. Hey apaisRN, where are you going in Me.? I lived there for years and worked at a few hosp. there, my husband is from there too, we love it but it is too cold in winter for us . I'd be interested in doing camp nursing but don't know anything about it. Have fun there!
  2. I wrote the View and hope they do what I suggest.. We have to prove everyday that we're worthy of our titles. I get tired of being asked are you a tech? or what are you? I can't tell until I see your nametag, come closer so I can see who you are, oh, your a nurse. Also a nurse seems very vague term as I've heard techs, cna's etc. refer to themselves, families and friends as well as to pt's as a nurse. Not to mention they often work out of their scope of practise. What can we be doing to help our image? :eek
  3. Don't hesitate to do what your heart is telling you. I't is scary to change jobs but if your honest with yourself and your prospective employers they will see that your willing to learn new things and that alone will open doors for you. I've done this myself and have travel nursed from Me. to Hawaii. Figure out what your interest is and research the area well so your sure and then go for it. You may have to take some courses but it will be worth it in the end. I never regretted doing what I did and I'm no spring chicken either (just determined, ha) All the best, let me know if I can help further.
