10 Year Retrogression

With the crushing economic problems blanketing America, are we in for worse visa delay problems, like say, a 10 year retrogression for immigrant nurses unless reforms are made (unlikely?)?

Philippine nurses in their tens of thousands must face this and look somewhere else. The year 2009 promises more horrible problems for the economies worldwide based on predictions and the nursing sector will not be immune from this.

Yes. I would suggest practicing in another country where the standard of nursing care is good.

Why 10?

Retrogression is not directly proportional to recession. Say the economic crisis worsens further, does it mean that the years of retrogression will move to 20?

If anything, recession should have the opposite effect with reduction in the number of employers willing to sponsor GC aspirants.

Can anyone explain to me this? Its a bit confusing coz they ask the USCIS to improve or hasten the processing for Schedule A and yet when you are about to reach the end of the processing, there wouldn't be any available visa?

Do they, U.S. government realize this or what?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Already a thread called 'They have spoken' discussing this. There are no visas so any suggestions now doesn't mean it will be acted on

I have been dealing with USCIS and Department of Homeland Security the last year involving K1 Visas, (AOS) Adjustment of Status, (EAD) Empolyment Authorization Document and Advance Parole to Travel.

The USCIS is a typical US Govermental Departmant. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand does, and massive paperwork is redundant and worthless......
