Hi,
Is there anyone applying to this program that’s based in Florida in February 2021?
I’ve enrolled today and very excited to start in a few months. With the cost of programs & how competitive it is these days; I’m glad to see an alternative out in the world!
Good Luck ? Everyone!
I am currently looking into this program as well. Has anyone else successful tested out of nursing fundamentals and pharm?
Does anyone know of someone who has successfully completed the program and got licensed?
I am weary of online programs. Especially living on the west coast.
Thank you!

Also, their clinical rotations have been frozen. I am concerned they will not be meeting CA BRN standards considering this....and ACEN accreditation can always be retracted...and the admissions rep keeps avoiding my emails about it even after I sent in current CA BRN requirements for this COVID period. I have sent everything in except for my Id badge notarization. LA County is barbaric and takes up to 10 days even on electronic requests. I am just waiting for those to be emailed. I am waiting to get approved and see which GAP exams I am eligible to take before paying $200 to access the portal.
Did you end up signing up? I am nervous about the accreditation and the clinical's not meeting the Oregon OSBN requirements as well.
I am also taking my GAP exam Jan31, 21 and starting the program feb 8th. I live in riverside, CA . maybe those of us in Cali can form a group and do clinicals out there together, save money and do Airbnb. if interested let me know, we can exchange info. good luck everyone

A lot of the LVNS in the prison system have used this program to become RN's and have had no issue obtaining there California licensure for RN

I am also applying to ICHS (school in Florida), sent transcripts and just need to complete the rest. For those of you in the class starting in Feb 2021 and from CA, perhaps we can create a thread on when need to travel for clinicals. I was looking up the State requirements on clinical hours and from what I understand 50% can be virtual as in simulations and the other 50% at actual sites, therefore we will need to travel to FL. please correct me if that is not the case.
I am from Cali too if you want a travel buddy or study partner. I start feb 8th.
I have a coworker who's wife completed the program at ichs last semester took NCLEX for florida boards and became endorsed in CA within 3 months after she passed NCLEX. I'm from northern california and finishing up my first semester here at ichs, starting med-surge in feb and hopefully graduating jan 2022.
So I am taking only 1 class which is Psychiatric Nursing this semester. I am working fulltime, additional extra shifts since they mandate us to work if there is staffing shortages. Two little toddlers that keeps me busy all the time.
I am getting a 93% overall grade in my class right now and will be taking the final next week which I think I will do well in.
The course consists accessing everything through moodle system. All of the assignments "lessons" are accessed through Sherpath system within the moodle. Every week on Sunday we have to submit all the assignments that are due which can be found on our syllabus. Usually it will consist of 6-8 "lesson quizzes" consisting of 6-16 questions and then there is a EAQ quiz/test due every Sunday which consist of 50 questions. And there are Virtual Simulations "VSims" that are due every Sunday.
There are zoom meetings once a week for my class which isn't mandatory attendance and can be viewed at your own time. You can skip ahead to the next weeks assignments to finish faster, and maybe complete the course in a shorter amount of time.
So this is the setup for my current class I am not sure if it will be the same for med-surge 1 or 2 or peds, etc.
On-site Florida clinicals for this class will be combined with my med-surge class this feb semester.
So those are the required assignments weekly. I am able to do this working full time and busy with my family, it is time consuming since there are lots of videos, reading, and powerpoints to learn. It is 99% all self study, you need to discipline yourself to achieve a good grade.
Overall I am happy with the program, the staff are very responsive to all my emails. I am excited to become a registered nurse in a short period of time instead of waiting on the crazy California RN program waiting lists.
