Hey JoyZ, so yes every semester we have to go to florida for clinicals which is about a week or two, depends on the sem requirement. My tuition is around 30k since I did a assessment test for skipping fundamentals and pharm which reduced it from 35k! They offer payment plans while in school and they have a private lender also which you can pay later after you graduate, it depends if you get approved though. The best first step to getting all the info about the school and requirements is calling the enrollment advisors! Jackie was great at emailing me all the info! Good luck to you.

Doing well in the program so far, there is alot of information to digest in med-surge, I'm already counting down the months until graduation which should be in 10 months for myself! I can't even imagine that I'll be an RN soon, back then I was thinking it would take me 2-3 years or more. Also the associate dean notified us that clinical sites for florida is opening back up so we should be able to schedule soon too. Good luck to you!

I do believe many people would choose going to a local college, but many of us are from california/other states and the waitlists/requirements or the tuitions for private schools are too ridiculous. Also hybrid online programs are best for many of us with full time jobs and family.

So I am taking only 1 class which is Psychiatric Nursing this semester. I am working fulltime, additional extra shifts since they mandate us to work if there is staffing shortages. Two little toddlers that keeps me busy all the time. I am getting a 93% overall grade in my class right now and will be taking the final next week which I think I will do well in. The course consists accessing everything through moodle system. All of the assignments "lessons" are accessed through Sherpath system within the moodle. Every week on Sunday we have to submit all the assignments that are due which can be found on our syllabus. Usually it will consist of 6-8 "lesson quizzes" consisting of 6-16 questions and then there is a EAQ quiz/test due every Sunday which consist of 50 questions. And there are Virtual Simulations "VSims" that are due every Sunday. There are zoom meetings once a week for my class which isn't mandatory attendance and can be viewed at your own time. You can skip ahead to the next weeks assignments to finish faster, and maybe complete the course in a shorter amount of time. So this is the setup for my current class I am not sure if it will be the same for med-surge 1 or 2 or peds, etc. On-site Florida clinicals for this class will be combined with my med-surge class this feb semester. So those are the required assignments weekly. I am able to do this working full time and busy with my family, it is time consuming since there are lots of videos, reading, and powerpoints to learn. It is 99% all self study, you need to discipline yourself to achieve a good grade. Overall I am happy with the program, the staff are very responsive to all my emails. I am excited to become a registered nurse in a short period of time instead of waiting on the crazy California RN program waiting lists.

I have a coworker who's wife completed the program at ichs last semester took NCLEX for florida boards and became endorsed in CA within 3 months after she passed NCLEX. I'm from northern california and finishing up my first semester here at ichs, starting med-surge in feb and hopefully graduating jan 2022.

The test is 110 questions and they allow you 4 hours to complete it. Fundamentals/pharm/psych/ob they had a mix of everything.

I've had good response feedback from ichs, at the beginning when I was enrolling myself it felt pretty stressful trying to reach enrollment staff. But afterwards all my emails were responded to pretty fast, most were within 24 hours or faster, if not it was the next day. If I couldn't reach them by phone I usually just leave a message and they call back within a few hours. I passed my gap and well within my first semester of ichs and everything feels fast and smooth, next thing you know in only a few more months I'll be in nursing capstone and taking my NCLEX. So excited!

Hi Kallee, thanks for letting me know, so previous GAP were on ATI FON & Pharm and it does make sense to have those tests since those are the subjects we're testing out of. But now the GAP is based on the HESI, do you think it will still be on the same subjects or like a TEAS test type exam where it tests you on all subjects. Could you email me at [email protected] after you take your exam or post here what type it is? I would most awesomely appreciate it. Good luck on the test and with the RN Program!

Hi, has anyone attempted the GAP test that they started this month in November? I believe it's HESI, but I was wondering if it will be like a general entrance exam with all the subjects or would it be focused on Pharmacology and Fundamentals of Nursing. I'm starting in November 30th, if anyone wants to connect just message me! Thanks

I'd like to know also what type of test, is it mainly fundamentals of nursing and pharmacology only or the whole general entrance exam type questions.

Thank you for responding! Well I know the current status of this terrible virus is temporarily halting many things. I hope we can all safely do our clinicals soon.

Hi, I wanted to know the current situation with clinicals with the program, is anyone in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th semester currently and are able to do their clinical rotations in florida without problems? I called admissions and was told that all clinical location sites are currently not allowing students to do their rotations. How are you completing your sememsters without being able to do your clinicals if that were the case? Is that true or should I get more information from more faculty? I am planning on starting my classes on 11/30 and would be terrified if I am not able to move to the next semester and would be stuck waiting. Thank you and if anyone else here is in the same boat with the same questions or starting on 11/30 please email me [email protected] so we can help each other gain information on the program together.
